Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think Janowski is a world beater capable of a 9, or even 8 point average here anymore. But for me he’s a seven pointer potentially therefore a point increase. Janowski on a 6 in the middle order makes much more sense than King on 7.27. Not all signings have to Jump out at you, you just have to build smart to be successful. Despite being without doubt our best riders this year, neither King nor Musielak have much (if any) improvement in their averages therefore you don’t sign them for ‘27. Danny King is 7.35. I don’t care how well he’s done for Ipswich this season or how many years he’s been there, you just don’t touch him on that figure when you see what else is available for less. Janowski 6.06 Masters 5.96 Brennan 5.91 Ellis 6.13 Lidsey 6.34 D Thompson 6.14 Flint 6.09 Rowe 6.07 You even have Zach Cook on an identical 7.35 but unlike King, he still has his best years ahead. Flint and Rowe nearly a point and a half cheaper but are upwardly mobile. There’s so many vastly better options. Sign King on his current figure and that eats in to what you can potentially have as your top 2. If Mayfield retain him then that’ll be a red flag in my opinion and show that they don’t know how to wisely put a winning team together. I agree totally and why I’m puzzled at some of the comments particularly on Facebook when it comes to next years Team. Some of the suggestions on there you’d need a 50 points limit, others are frustrating because I know a fair few of them and they’ve been going so long that they SHOULD know how team building works in terms of averages. Some don’t even bother to look at the figures and just go “Sign Musielak and King next year because they’ve been great this year” Yes, they have indeed but that’s exactly why you DON’T sign them. They’ve maxed out their averages. Sign those two and you’ve got your second and third heatleader already. Do fans want to win the title again or not? In the words of Coleman “We’re not there to make up the numbers”. Whoever we manage to get as a number 1, our biggest rival (amongst others) will be Belle Vue who will no doubt retain Kurtz and Bewley. Musielak just isn’t on their level however you slice it so we’ll always be at a disadvantage going in to the crucial last few heats. We won our title with Doyle and Emil. We only really started seriously competing when we signed them. Belle Vue have been there or thereabouts, with Kurtz and Bewley. Sheffield been there with Jack Holder, but he was backed up by a stronger second and third heatleader in C Holder and Pickering. You ain’t winning a Premiership title with Musielak and King as two of your Three heatleaders.
TTT
King 100% has to go on his GSA, Been a great leader for the Club but Speedway is a numbers game and he's got a 0% chance of even maintaining his GSA. Musielak for me is a 50/50, Shop around to see if anyone better is available and if they are then I'd release Musielak on his GSA however if nobody better is available and we're left with options like Dominik Kubera for example then I'd re-sign Musielak as we know that he can ride British tracks. At the moment I'm thinking something like the following.... 1. J. Doyle 2. T. Brennan 3. ? 4. M. Janowski (Wroclaw Agreement) 5. K. Woryna 6. M. Kowolik (Foreign U21 Wroclaw Agreement) 7. C. Rushen (British U21)

Nobody would pick a forty year old ex Ipswich rider on a 7 point something average thinking he would improve it by nearly a point and a half - would they? TTT
I'm all in on Janowski at this moment in time. He doesn't mess Clubs about and he always makes the effort to turn up, With Wroclaw being involved with the Witches you'd think he'd be on the best kit possible as well. Unless Mayfield are willing to pay Keynan Rew No.1 money, I don't see a better option than Magic on a 6.06. Like Musielak this year, Magic's GSA holds massive value with potential to increase it by at least a point imo.

Not really and as ever, the devil is in the detail. Could say the same about Musielak being on a 6 after his stint with Birmingham. Oxford relied far too heavily on Janowski to be the heatleader in two poor teams with little top end strength. He was one of their two heatleaders at 1 or 5 until the closing weeks of the ‘25 season. That clearly affected his average. Sign two heatleaders and leave him alone in the middle order where he’s not likely to move from, and there’s a point increase minimum on his GSA of 6.06. It may not be a sexy signing, but it would definitely be a smart one. IMO obviously.
