Ipswich have had a shocker of a season but they've still managed to come out of it better off than Belle Vue lol. I wonder if Dan Bewley fancies getting to grips with the soon to be new and improved Foxhall circuit before the GP. Two nights at the GP's cost me well over £300 for two tickets and that kind of outlay (and more for others to sit down), definitely, once again, meant that domestic meeting attendances before, and after, got hit, and quite severely... Maybe not having a GP next season will help the Aces attendance wise?... I will be very surprised if they run on the 12th of June given Oasis are in town, a mile away, and there is hardly a "very expensive" room available now, already, in Manchester for that evening... And one GP wouldn't justify the six figure outlay for the extra seating that needs putting in to take the capacity up to "profit levels"... Aries Posted 2 hours ago Author Report Share Posted 2 hours ago People spontaneously combusting on here and social media that Coleman has “taken an GP away from Belle Vue and given it to Ipswich instead” are not surprisingly way off yet again. He very much wants the GP at the NSS but there are issues that he’s trying hard to resolve. Everyone is in full agreement that Belle Vue holds the best possible racing. In an ideal world and this is just my opinion, they would have one GP at the NSS every year as standard, and then move the other around different parts of the country for variety and giving supporters from different parts of the UK a chance to go and see a GP without major travelling. Win win. Good post and spot on. Richard did not gleefully move the GP, he is first and foremost a business man and promotes accordingly, different from the heart led style of most promotions. Now the venue has been announced and following my other post, I can give my thoughts. The main plus for me is the track work at Foxhall as it’s been poor for more years than I care to remember. Secondly a southern GP (together with a hoped for northern one) should ignite interest from fans new & old down there. Thirdly is the capacity that Foxhall offers for what will be a sell out. I have seen Dan B try and pass both of them around Foxhall and get nowhere near given the, usual, one line available... I have also seen Brady, who doesn't like the track, beat both just by riding one line at speed... Ride fast down the short straight on a rocket ship, lock up sideways mid track, meaning not much room either side, put wheels in line, fire off down short straight, then rinse and repeat.. Chris Louis was inspired by what he saw at the NSS re the entry and exit widths, and circumference size of the bends, and he changed the track dimensions at Foxhall off the back of it.. But he couldn't go "all in", which hopefully Richard Coleman can and will do... What's under the circuit can be the biggest challenge and cost to move... Hopefully it will deliver great racing, providing several different lines, which can only be good for Ipswich and not just the GP's..
