CHAMPIONSHIP PLAY OFF FINAL - SCUNTHORPE v POOLE v SCUNTHORPE (2 & 7 October)

Recommended Posts

Well this subject rumbles on, dispite the fact that the SCB have confirmed an excludable offence took place, and Poole are cheats 😜 I wonder if Matt Ford , middlo or Mr Shovler will make a statement 🤔

On the curb theme some moto gp circuits on some bend use what are called the "misano curbs"(named after circuit they were first used)which are curbs with slight corrugations enough to slow the riders down  so no advantage can be gained but still stay safe, might not be feasible in speedway or might be worth thinking about, will require a massive leap for speedway to drag itself out of the 1950s tho!

I sincerely hope the Poole pirate prince of porn never posts again on the forum if he does it just shows he clearly has no remorse or conscience.

Poole should let Scunthorpe have the trophy!

If the SCB have a picture confirming the back wheel did actually go over the line, I also think Scunthorpe should be handed the trophy, it just seems a hollow victory now

Well done Arthur54 not Poole's fault but no kudos for winning the play-offs now. However Poole did finish top of the league

All the SCB needed to do was:

- make clear its interpretation of the regulations ( eg what it determines crossing to be)

- say what the ref considered and why that was wrong

- publish any video evidence it has relied upon.

Instead, all it has done is create even more discussion, not helped by its typographical error when it first published the news item ( by including the term 'admissable' instead of 'inadmissable' regarding any appeal.

I still can't work out why the SCB had this meeting, and published there findings, if they were never going to reverse the result in the first place

His back wheel breached the inside of the white line...the edge next to the shale, he doesnt have to be fully over, its not football

And all the SCB needs to say is that is the interpretation, because clarity is required where the regulation does not make it clear. I'll bet the regulation is re-written for next year

For example: If you cross the road have you crossed it at the point you step off of the kerb or at the point you step up onto the kerb at the other side of the road? Id say the later. Between the two kerbs you are on the road.

The speedway regulation says crossed not on

Lots of sports have different interpretations that involve lines. There is normally not much ambiguity.

Seems very strange as Godfrey has a position in all three parties….promoter of Scunthorpe, BSPL chairman and their liaison officer with the SCB !

On that basis alone why did they put in a protest ? You think Vatcher or someone in the SCB office ( is there anyone else ? ) would have advised him it was a waste of time thus making this press release even more absurd.
