Neila
Well this subject rumbles on, dispite the fact that the SCB have confirmed an excludable offence took place, and Poole are cheats 😜 I wonder if Matt Ford , middlo or Mr Shovler will make a statement 🤔

poole keith
On the curb theme some moto gp circuits on some bend use what are called the "misano curbs"(named after circuit they were first used)which are curbs with slight corrugations enough to slow the riders down so no advantage can be gained but still stay safe, might not be feasible in speedway or might be worth thinking about, will require a massive leap for speedway to drag itself out of the 1950s tho! However Poole did finish top of the league

Sir Sidney
All the SCB needed to do was: - make clear its interpretation of the regulations ( eg what it determines crossing to be) - say what the ref considered and why that was wrong - publish any video evidence it has relied upon. Instead, all it has done is create even more discussion, not helped by its typographical error when it first published the news item ( by including the term 'admissable' instead of 'inadmissable' regarding any appeal.

I'll bet the regulation is re-written for next year For example: If you cross the road have you crossed it at the point you step off of the kerb or at the point you step up onto the kerb at the other side of the road? Id say the later. Between the two kerbs you are on the road. The speedway regulation says crossed not on Lots of sports have different interpretations that involve lines. There is normally not much ambiguity.

On that basis alone why did they put in a protest ? You think Vatcher or someone in the SCB office ( is there anyone else ? ) would have advised him it was a waste of time thus making this press release even more absurd.

Gavan
If the back wheel is on the line it’s an exclusion Otherwise teams could make the white line 3 foot wide
Paul Johnson
05.1.4 Infield The Infield must be kept clear of objects, except those specifically approved and designated on the Homologation Certificate. Equipment or machinery essential for the meeting must be kept or parked as close to the centre of the infield as possible, and in all cases not less than 10 metres from the inner edge of the track. Collapsible A-Frame or other ‘soft material’ advertising boards can be placed at least 4 metres from the track inner edge. On the track surface clearly marked lines, chalk is acceptable, are required: a) a continuous line to define the inner edge of the track circuit Once his tyre passed the edge he should of been excluded
Triple.H.
Personally speaking, i don't think much blame can be put upon the referee, it's a poorly written rule that is open to so much on the spot analysis, hard to spot in the split second it took place and has any photo actually proven that ZC crossed the line, bearing in mind the rulebook does not clarify which is the edge of the track and how much of the wheel has to cross it to mean an offence. I'd say the rule should be rewritten along the lines of the wider part of the whiteline is the marking for the inside of the track, if both tyres touch the inner edge of the white line or further onto the offtrack area then an exclusion will be given unless it was due to taking avoiding action etc.
