was Bomber watching his average(just in case the 1 over 8 rule). He is box office round Ashfield though.

I don't think he was, even though it has worked out that way. Bomber did have a below par season, with some bike problems early on, but I don't think that there was a lack of effort on his part and there did appear to be genuine frustration with some of his below par heat results.

I think part of the issue was that more teams this year adjusted their track prep to have less shale on it than normal to hinder Bomber's over taking chances when Glasgow visited.

Would he not be 8.87 converted so not much difference. Would suggest the 1 over 8 rule would be scrapped?

8.64 with 2.5% off? Pretty much half the points on 2 riders 👀. Be interesting what they do with bottom half of the team.

Maybe then going top heavy could be a sign that it could well be a 40.00 limit.

Well if other teams are worried about Oxford and Glasgow top end strength then they could still do a u turn at agm yet and go for 38!

Brennan to be announced officially on Monday

This is the guy that represented GB in the SoN a couple of years ago and should be on an upward trajectory in view of his age. He’s now doubling up in the second tier in the UK? Doesn’t appear to be the rider many of us thought he was.

UK talent is well behind most European Countries.Representing GB in the SON is not really that big I’m afraid. He is decent rider though but is in consistent.Had a few injuries to contend with.

Tom Brennan ditched this league a couple of years too early. He should have stayed and dominated for a while, built experience, confidence and some cash to go and tackle Polska.

Let's not forget he had a nasty double leg break when racing in USA last winter. Probably partly explains his poor initial form at Ipswich?!

I think he left at the right time & credit to him for being brave enough to do so.

Obviously it hasn't worked out, maybe the pre-season injury had something to do with that?

If riders want to be world class, need to leave Champ behind i.e Doyle, Douglas, Ben Cook. But if you just want to earn a living (nothing wrong with that) just double up forever like a Sam Masters or Richard Lawson?

British Speedway needs riders in both categories, so while I think Brennan dropping down will be a step back, can understand the reasoning after a poor 2026.

I like the idea of the top 9 riders being shared amongst 9 clubs. If someone like Brennan wants to come back, make it the top 8 from last year & Brennan. I certainly don't want a situation where someone misses out.

Think Oxford will go down the top heavy 3 heat leaders/big hitters route along with Kileen and have quite a weak tail end, they’ve tried the 2 heat leaders and solid engine room but just not worked as ended up again with weak reserves, maybe this is the way to go to secure play off speedway in 2027

With Masters and Killeen signed, and seemingly Brennan, could the team be:

Sam Masters

Jody Scott

Luke Killeen

Mitch McDiarmid

Tom Brennan

2 x 2 pointers (Senna Summers/Ashton Vale/Harry Fletcher, or unearth an Aussie that can get a UK passport).

More likely only 1 of Scott and McDiarmid would be signed, maybe with Kennett, Ritchings and 1 x 2 pointer
