But i agree with Phil, Dan Bewley will be back at Belle Vue and definitely nowhere else. Lots of Team Building already done, nobody wants to announce anything yet, but some teams i would expect are already complete, if not close. If that is the case then BSPL/SCB/ACU needs to stick to their guns and revoke his licence, not consider him for any competition or nomination and move on That then needs to be a permanent move - he may not need any of that now but if/when he may do in the future it has to still be in effect

Polish contract: you must limit your employment to ours and a maximum of 2 others = not a violation of human rights. ACU licence: you must ride in British speedway to be granted start permission abroad with an ACU licence = violation of human rights...? Find Riding Gear There's no obligation to take out an ACU licence - I'm sure there's a lot of other federations who would happily allow him to take out a licence. However, as with Polish contracts, you have to deal with the consequences. i don’t think it’s any violation of human rights whatsoever but it’s clearly an attempt to strong arm lambert and possibly one or two others and to what end? For them to say cheers then I’ll get a polish license next year best of luck in the SoN and World Cup going forward

The Polish contract is a classic case of how much is your freedom worth to you when it comes to your Speedway career? No point in any rider complaining about any ruling by the Polish because they've got no choice but to oblige once the ink is dry on the Polish contracts that they've personally signed. He who pays the piper, calls the tune...

He’s barely ridden over here the past few years and has became world champion. Let’s be honest the only reason Kurtz, Doyle and Holders ride here is because they live here. Going by your reasoning let’s stop Harry Kane, Antony Gordon and Jude Bellingham playing for England because they don’t play in the premier league.

Winning the SoN and having a British World Champion - that doesn't ride here - has so far done very little to boost the standing of the sport in this country. If they choose to get a Polish licence, good for them, but at least we're doing what's best for us and trying to get some benefit.
Trotter65
Riders are self employed and look for the best deals to suit themselves just like any other self employed person…Lambert lives in Poland with a Polish partner and Polish born child…he has every right to ride there and not ride in England …if Britain choose not to pick him for the Speedway of Nations then that’s their choice but there is no way they would ever be able to stop him racing in Poland and in the GP

This, and any regulation, isn't (or at least shouldn't) be about 1 rider now (Lambert) At present this possibly has more impact on the likes of Rushen,Cairns etc If it is considered important to provide stability then it should be introduced Comparison with football is pointless and irrelevant - although England Rugby did (possibly still do) have a similar policy meaning a few high profile players were not picked for the international side
szkocjasid Posted yesterday at 08:29 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 08:29 AM It's hard to plan teams without knowing the points limit / rules. But if it is a stronger league Ben Cook would be a good signing. Would fully expect him to up his average with the NSS as his home track. Steve Irving
As expected, an expensive and fierce battle for the best under 21 riders. 3 way battle for Cairns, Belle Vue, Sheffield, Ipswich.
PhilTheAce
top 2 pretty much confirmed, so until we know the points limit then i have no idea who the others could be. klindt on a low average and he put himself in the shop window, he is also going to be using a british license so will he get the deduction or not??? you would say ben cook is a shoe in, so we can get wins at home. preferbly id take the same team as this year with bewley for doyle but sadly that wont be able to happen which is a crying shame

Heard we’re in the mix for Cairns too. Coleman mentioned the financial issue of the reserves because naturally “we’ll all want the best ones”. With one having to be British, there is a very small pool of them actually good enough so the obvious four will be sought after. The sensible thing to do would be for all the promoters during their numerous meetings, agreeing a cap for the under 21 riders and nobody can go over it. Let as many clubs who want to meet that ceiling do so, and then let the riders choose where they want to go. I’ve heard some of the figures being offered to these youngsters are “eye watering” and above and beyond where they currently stand in the game but that was always going to be an issue. You’ll always get people agreeing to such restrictions, then privately offering them all sorts of sweeteners to get them at their club. Forget the heatleaders next year, you could find the title being won and lost at reserve. There’ll be one or two who’ll look ridiculously strong, and others who’ll be badly exposed.
