Glasgow V Newcastle Pl Sun 24th Aug 2014 @3pm

Recommended Posts

Speedway is a sport full of quirky surprises . Poole bend the rules , the Edinburgh promoters smile , Darcy rolls up sober , but nothing prepares you for .............................................Desperate Deek guests for Glasgow .

That's like the Pope belting out the Sash in the Louden Tavern

The sport never fails to shock the average punter , how will we cope ?

Anyway , as a sideshow to the main event ( Deek in a Tigers bib  ) , we have the Diamonds to take care of .

We should be full of ourselves after last nights earthshattering away thrashing of Workington ( still pinching myself ) , so we're full of confidence for this next test .

The new greatest Tiger ever ( Rusty Harrison ) will lead the attack . Backed up with whatever Kevin Wolbert turns up and Theo Pijper , we should have too much firepower for the Geordies .

Victor's back after we sent him home to Sweden so we could use r/r at Workington and Tero Aarnio makes his home debut ( round about heat 9 probably ) . Add to that our ever entertaining Danish reserve Kasper and .....................erm ..........Deek . Geordies will be well served by the likes of Stuart Robson and Danny King , so should be a decent meeting .

Team are -

Awayday specialists

1 Victor Palovaara

2 Theo Pijper

3 Kevin Wolbert or Kevin Wolbert

4 Tero Aarnio

5 King Rusty

6 Kasper Lykke

7 Our guest

Newcastle

1 Danny King

2 Lewis Rose

3 Stuart Robson

4 Lewis Kerr

5 Ludvig Lindgren

6 Simon Nielsen

7 Chris Mills

Tigers to win 49-41, Sneddon to score 21-point max, and Paulco to join Deek's fan club. ;)

All the best

Your reserves will clean up against ours.

Expecting a home win as we've been shocking on our travels this season

Hope Lewis and Simon are okay and the diamonds can get themselves sorted out for tomorrows meeting. Could possibly have won at Glasgow with a full team !!! not a bad effort for a 5 man team.

Strange meeting today, several strung out races, then some terrific passes. Glasgows new boys well off the pace but newcastles bad luck let us off the hook a bit.

was some good racing today, 2 new boys struggled a bit but everyone else did their job , we were lucky at times due to Newcastle's misfortune, but reckon we were due some good luck after all the bad luck we have had this season...Was good to see Kasper trying an outside line for a change, he did well fending off Danny king and almost getting Ludvig... Robbo is a joy to watch an out and out racer and Newcastle will have felt they should have taken the win but hey ho we got 2 points and I will take that... A better crowd today as well hopefully same again next week

An entertaining meeting despite the long delays for Rose and Neilsen. We definitely profitted from Mills inability to complete 4 laps though he made up for it in ht14 with an excellent win.

Wonder what the issue was with Rusty's bike in ht13, never seen 2 riders go off 15m in the same race.

Lykke had an excellent afternoon, one of the most productive inside line riders we've had at Glasgow and smartly moves off it in later heats to follow the dirt line. Aarnio pretty much got what Anders would have.

Think we are in for a pumping at Newcastle tomorrow.
