spanner47 336 Posted October 8, 2017 (edited) IF, as I was assured by a senior member of the BSPA over the weekend, Mondays and Thursday are a done deal for the Premiership, that would suit Sheffield in the PL and Leicester in the CL. This will only work with the right amount of clubs. How do they decide who misses out? With loads of clubs riding Thursday, most will only be able to ride every other week, if Lakeside, Ipswich, Sheffield come up I assume it will have to be just one home one away. That's not enough meetings, so they'll need more clubs, if they can't persuade more clubs, then they'll need less clubs and ride each other twice. Good luck coming up with an acceptable solution for all concerned. Edited October 8, 2017 by spanner47

False dawn 2,298 Posted October 8, 2017 it's a shame Eddie Waring isn't still alive to commentate on it! Actually, I could only manage a mini marathon these days (the knees, you know?). Â Eddie would have made a good speedway commentator. "He's a strong lad, he'll get up" would be true, a large percentage of the time in speedway.

What, really? One of Polands most famous, well known, well supported, and biggest teams with a Stadium that is amongst the finest of Speedway stadia in the whole world managed to retain their top league status against a team that errrrrmmmm...  Has none of the above going for it....  Nothing to see here, move along please.....😉 Edited October 8, 2017 by mikebv
g13webb 4,254 Posted October 8, 2017 The sport has been crying out for fixed race nights for years. Years ago when we had most of the world Stars competing here, all the top riders and some of the clubs, desperately wanted these fixed night enabling the Stars to arrange their hectic schedule. But each year it was passed over. Now , when all the stars have left our shores, the BSPA decide to implement Fixed night racing...... Â Talk about shutting the door after the Horse has bolted, you couldn't make this up...... Â Lets forget, trying to compete with other countries schedules, lets concentrate on our sport and organise the program to suit the riders who want to race in our leagues here....,

KIRKYLANE 537 Posted October 8, 2017 Last time they had promotion relegation there was a get out clause which meant both clubs could elect where they rode the following year if they did not like the result !!!!!
