  1. Past hour
  2. Two teams have a tug of war OR - team captains arm wrestle (would have said wrestle, but seen Charles in action give Redcar huge advantage 😆) and would have said TMs, but that give Glasgow big advantage (IMO)
  3. Can't really trust the clubs to get all the fixtures on to allow re-stagings tbh. The fact 3 finals are having to be raced in October despite clubs having fewer fixtures these days, shows that. In an ideal world I'd agree with you. My plan would be to never let it go to a ballot (thankfully this didn't) by adding more ways to decide a tie.
  4. The play offs are popular, not with everyone but in an age where every penny counts while it gets crowds it’s here to stay, individual meetings or 4tt or pairs are just not well supported anymore unfortunately, as I’ve banged on about for a while the bikes are no faster today than forty years ago, what is faster is the speed of the back wheel which has increased decade on decade but race times are relatively the same and in the last 2 years seem actually to be slower, the 4 valve engine had no real bearing on the popularity of the sport, it just happened at the same time of the decline but it wasn’t the cause, the return of the 2 valve engine isn’t going to make the sport any more popular, it won’t change anything except maybe a bit of cost, price is a factor though but the decline of speedway is 90% what happens outside the safety fence, the bond between the fans and riders has been lost
  5. Surely a more satisfactory decision would be a re -staging.IMO. Scotty with his stupid coin will probably what they would come up with though.🤔
  6. Agreed, I don't understand some people being adamant that the second leg at home is an advantage. Poole had home leg first in KOC Semi & final & won. Redcar had home leg first in KOC semi & won. Edinburgh had home leg first in KOC against Workington & won. Oxford had home leg first against Scunthorpe in the KOC & won. Poole had home leg first in the P/O semi & won. Surely that's far too many instances to prove there is no "second leg at home advantage"?
  7. That’s my point, has it even got a scheduled date ?
  8. I don't mean this time, rules are in place. I mean for future occurrences, to try for a more satisfactory decision (if they don't want to have a re-staging).
  9. Cheetahs is the name being kept. Just not sure at this stage what league it will be.
  10. When’s the Annual P#ssUp closed shop meeting.
  11. Today
  12. Probably will use Pollestad in the team- If teams use a foreign rider at 6/7 they will need 3 Poles in the top 5.
  13. Doesn't matter how many times you repeat yourself, doesn’t make your opinion any more factual. We had the first leg of KOC final alright and first leg of KOC SF ok too. So not sure where this opinion is coming from? Actually having the first legs at home has worked out pretty good so far wouldn't you say?
  14. With 2026 in mind. Clearly Glasgow are going to have to off load at least 2 of their top 5 for next season to get anywhere decent under the 40 point limit (if that stays) this would enable them to get at least one strong reserve. Who can you see depart for 2026?
  15. That might be the case, thought that’s was what they said earlier in the season.Find out soon No doubt.Crowd levels dipped so will maybe have reconsider the finances.
  16. Anyone know if there is any speedway in the uk next season ? The silence on all fronts is deafening
  17. Jack got paid 4 at Poole when there with Berwick, Jordy got 1 , Jack is the best bet as replacement for Hodder
  18. You could of course have two home, two away, and drop a competition (or maybe two 😱) and then have less disparity in the number of home meetings for each side. Rather than Berwick having 11 and Glasgow/Poole having something like 18, maybe everyone would have closer to 16. That would make a lot more sense. It's not like we get many shock winners of all the cups, sometimes we can't even be bothered to arrange the finals because it seems teams get bored of winning...
  19. Hodder 2.70, Smith 2.68 as of 01/10 so can guest both legs, might be the best guest if Freddy isn't fit for home, not sure about his Poole form though.
