A cylinder blew out, destroying the engine from the inside. The engine was completely destroyed, melting the remaining part and melting some of the motorcycle's trim. This engine had just been serviced and had previously only been used for training.

Made my first visit to Buxton since re-opening,on Sunday 24 May. I would like to say a big thank you for everyone who put time effort and money in to venture. However I do fear for it. Start time was nearer to 3.30 than the stated time. I appreciate ambulance was late, but rider introductions could have been done without this. Meeting just seemed to take ages. Noticed some leaving as early as heat 8. I had hoped to leave shortly after 5pm, having watched both NL and MDL match. When an interval was announced at 5.20 pm, with only 12 races completed, a few others joined me in leaving. Wonder how many will return. Thankfully didn't have the usual Buxton cold weather. A few simple and easy changes needed.
