Ipswich Witches vs Leicester Lions 9th July
Bash replied to ShanoXtra's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Think we will do well to hit 40 tonight, with Palm-Toft nowhere near what Danny would score, Kevin Juul Pedersen never even been to Foxhall before and Jason struggling a bit at the moment. The other three will need to hit big double figure scores. I hope I'm wrong but just can't see a Witches victory, but I will be there to cheer them on -
Doyley won't ride for Paul Hurry......It actually seems like no one will ride for him to be fair...Hence Edward Kennett and Michael Palm-Toft are his guests so far, cant count Chris Harris as he rides for anybody. But as the great man Coleman said at the start, we have to keep backing him in 2026....Coz 2027 will be when he needs to be judged. On Lawson, he does seem to get a lot of hate, or let's say criticism, mellow that down a bit....But he does score big points, many many more than Tom who is still sitting at Number 1. It's been a tough season, after the last 2 or 3, i suppose it had to dip, but under Paul Hurry it seemed to of dipped even lower than i thought. But don't forget those immortal words.....Judge me on 2027..NOT 2026

Ipswich Witches vs Leicester Lions 9th July

Best opportunity for Leicester to win at Foxhall and will be surprised if they dont 2 of our best riders at home missing this evening can only see an away win by 6 I would be confident of winning still if it was belle vue tonight but Leicester have too many riders like Douglas, Dan T and Masters that go well at Foxhall will be tough for Ipswich -
Should be comfortable for Belle Vue to win here Across the sides Northampton are only stronger at 2 and 7 and maybe 4….. Belle Vue by 8

Why is speedway in decline?

99% Not a fan of the flag, especially if it stops the rider doing a wheelie or some other such trick -
It is the unusual moments I seem to remember A certain poster on this forum's son going after an opposing rider with a marshall's shovel at a Newport Mavericks meeting Will Beveridge attacking Emil Linqvist and the subsequent fracas Scott Smiths bike ending up on the rake of the passing tractor as a celebration wheelie went wrong Least able Karlsson brother having a dust up with the start marshall Frank Smart and Robin Aspergen racing each other ( tentatively) in the opposite track direction in just boots, underpants, helmet and gloves Just hope I remembered these incidents correctly It all seems somewhat sanitised these days

But another of your riders appears to taking the piss 😜

Why is speedway in decline?

I’ll also add, taking a victory lap after winning a race. Riders, just bloody do it, it costs you naff all and you’re doing it for the people who contribute towards your wages. Take it a step further collect the team flag every time and take that on your victory lap with you. -
I joined BSF at the beginning of 2010 when my son started riding at amateur level. At the time, it was the place for all the information & updates on amateur meetings, riding equipment buying & selling and was invaluable for technical help on bike maintenance etc. Sadly that section of the forum has been inactive for a number of years. I think that as smart phones became more widespread, Facebook groups took over from Internet forums. It was my first foray into the world of social media and I was surprised by the level of unpleasantness on here. It seems some people are incapable of processing opinions that differ to their own without resorting to belittling & random rudeness. I guess that applies to social media in general though, which is why I avoid it. When I first joined, Speedway was in a lot more people's living rooms because of the Sky coverage, so there was always plenty to discuss, but the only Speedway I see now is the GP so I don't contribute as much these days. I still visit regularly though to catch up on what's going on. I know that even after 16 years I'm still a relative newbie compared to some but it's good to still see familiar names that have been here for my entire BSF journey 🙂

Thoroughly enjoyed last nights match. Given the conditions, the track was a significant improvement and both teams were very competitive.Good to see Anders show some form. Onwards and upwards! -
