World Team Cup use to be a fantastic week of racing. Due to the fact Poland would nearly always win. Those in charge then in their wisdom decided to have a glorified pairs meeting. Now we have such unevenly matched pairs. Whats the point? Speedway must be the only sport that continues to shoot it's self in the foot. They get pleanty of air time, but People are not going to watch or attend this rubbish. Surely the FIM must know this?

In football ,the top 3 teams in the championship get promoted. The same 3 teams usually get relegated the following year. But the same rules apply every year. They get their chance. The 3 teams freshen up the top league at least. New faces . And if any are good enough then they stay up. It’s evolution to a point. As for the young riders not being good enough, how will we know until they get their chance. We know they won’t come out on top straight away but it will be interesting to watch their progress. The 3 wildcards aren’t good enough too. Otherwise they wouldn’t need a pick year on year. The gp has gone stale. Wheeling out the usual suspects who’ll never challenge the top spot will just worsen it.

What's the point in these meetings even existing? Interest in them is at a premium and that's putting it politely.

It seems that no one is interested in this type of meeting anymore. The structure of the meetings/qualifiers probably needs to looked at and just the final put on as a main event not this format. Poland has no interest until the final and all the so called top riders already grace the Polish league so if the final is in Poland for example hold the qualifiers elsewhere where some of the top riders rarely appear. Just a thought.

Polish fans aren’t actually bothered with SoN or World Cup. They have the best league and travel everywhere for the SGP.

What this crowd needs it a Mexican wave

There is a solution where you could run one league incorporating all teams but a race format where heats are split, offering a junior section where they race off against each other for a team point, and a main feature card where heat leaders and 2nd strings race their format for 2 league points. Simply call it the British League with a regional cup thrown into the mix.
