  1. Past hour
  2. Why not? If you’re going to put it out there, face the consequences and own it when it turns out to be bullsh!t.
  3. Even if it isn't true, was it really necessary to "name and shame" the poster?
  4. Back in the day, I remember you often had top riders missing in the premier league for stuff at weekends but legit things like world longtrack series, world under 21 qualis etc. I remember Newport missing Glenn Cunningham on a few Sundays for world long track events and Wato, you don't mind if its a couple of times for a legit reason. As years have progressed the absences have become more ridiculous, missing a meeting for your club as your Polish club wants you at a photo shoot and press and practice and what have you. Its pathetic. It really is gutting to see what a laughing stock the sport is nowadays. I'm not sure if such a slump has happened before in the 60s, 70s or 80s but the state of the sport now compared to the years I followed (90s and 00s) is something that I can't see a way back from. Promoters are mostly to blame, when things started slipping in the winter instead of nipping those issues in the bud there and then, they buried the heads in the sand and this is the result of it.
  5. It was a daft decision to bring Pickering in from the clown at Scunny. Pickering is class and a brilliant rider but to waste such a chunk of team building on him as well as presumably the amount he is being paid? Bonkers decision. The rest of the team is rubbish and Harrison is expected to ride as third heatleader when he should be second string paired with a heatleader to develop more.
  6. Peter Oakes in Today’s Speedway Star. Oh dear @PhilTheAce
  7. Yesterday
  8. Yet he'd still sign a rubbishe Dane over said British riders
  9. Ain’t gonna happen if you go by Godfrey’s interview on the 360 podcast before the season. He mentioned it was bizarre that clubs are bringing in foreign riders in when some British riders don’t have a contract signed. Don’t think Rob Godfrey would pay for a box to be able to think outside of it to be honest!
  10. 1. Bewley 8.64 2. Batchelor 4.73 3. Kvech 6.91 4. Morris 5.84 5. Masters 7.28 6. Zischke 3.00 7. Edwards RS
  11. Would MPT and SL be eligible for the NDL next year?
  12. It's been crap for years (bit like the teams Godfrey and co build year on year) 🤣 Not to fear though 2027 will be Palm Toft and Lambert's year
  13. Well you have to feel the pain of Scorpion fans, Pickering was good but not fantastic, Mountain Mr Second, the rest what can you say. To only score 29 when 15 are a given, says it all. If I supported Scunthorpe I'd be thinking about 2027. Scorpion fans you have my sympathy, you deserve better.
  14. They need to sort out their website, it doesn't even have a secure connection! Good job the stream is somewhere else.
  15. I feel that's a little harsh on Ablitt, he hardly struggled at reserve as he raised his average so much he then got dropped the following season. So naturally gonna find it tough after racing a handful of NL matches & being thrust into the top 5. I'd blame the team selection, of picking him to be a second string in a struggling team rather than the rider not doing his job (as it's early days yet). The team looked the weakest by far, so I'm not surprised by the 61-29 scoreline, be interesting to see what they do at home in the 2nd leg. Wouldn't be surprised to see team changes on the horizon, almost surprised they didn't make a change as soon as Pickering got a new average.
  16. Apparently the new comets race suits are good, batch was up at worky on Tuesday practicing with cookie and Tate and a young Aussie. The 1st airing of the new race suit will be at Redcar on Friday. UTC 😀🏁🔵⚪
  17. Very Disappointed by the report from the meeting on the Scorpions website no inspirational quotes/excuses (delete as you see fit) from The Gaffer
  18. Let’s just say No Comment at present lots of ideas but need to wait and see if any of these promises get fulfilled
  19. Bewley 8.64 Flint 5.05 Musielak 6.63 Morris 5.89 Pickering 7.76 Etheridge 3.00 Edwards 36.97
  20. Looking forward to attending this one, a group of 9 of us coming, not regulars and a few who haven't been speedway for years. 50-40 Witches, Fricke to top score
  21. Well no surprise getting hammered. MPT once again showing no enthusiasm, totally unprofessional and needs to be sacked - can't see any other team signing him up. Ablitt struggled to be good enough at reserve and is totally out of his depth in the main team- another one who should never have been invited back. Only Picko and Mountain showing any fight, its time for a mass clear out. The crowd on Friday night will be very sparse no doubt and my prediction of early exit from KO Cup and BSN looks spot on. It can't get much worse as a supporter , who do we bring in to get more balance? Its ok to bring in a rookie reserve, but we can't carry 3 or 4 passengers as well!
  22. Definitely not. I think it’ll be close; my heart says us, but my head says them. Wouldn’t be surprised if we see a Dan Thompson masterclass. I think both sides look strong, so hopefully we’ll see some good racing.
  23. No chance with that score Glasgow win will be a bonus for them. IMO
  24. Not that I like to recall the event, but when Poole won at Ashfield last season, more often than not, their riders about turned on the back straight without acknowledging their fans and headed back to the pits. Cannot stand that. With all due respect, who do they think they are? Almost 500 miles and they didn’t even acknowledge them.
