Sheffield v Leicester- 25th June
BarryIsland replied to InTheDeepStuff's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Dan Thompson is a greedy money goblin. He likes the smell of coins apparently hence his absence at Sheffield . -
That team does look pretty decent. The advantage of the change is a top rider gets 5 rides a match normally, but the weakest reserve only needs 3. So a 9.00+2.00 should score more than a 6.00+5.00? If they went this route, Senna Summers would be my choice of reserve.

Unfortunately we are far far down the pecking order, most country's leagues can probably hold us over a barrel now. Can that change. Absolutely but it needs some strong heads to go against the dinosaurs. -
Don’t be too sure with Gary Havelock helping him out🤔. Read that he’s been given a 6.00 point championship average so it’s a big gamble for anyone at this stage of the season.

Sh@t it -
Well to sum that up. Stream is probably the worst in the category of value for money compared to what you get elsewhere for the same price. Klindt is a gating tart. Embarrassing we’ve allowed Simon Lambert to score paid 9 against us. Once again hammered at reserve and Mitch Cluff is an embarrassment to all other speedway riders calling himself one. Think that pretty much covers it.

All I know is it's a bit of a 5hitshow, it's bad enough that these riders go missing, for them not to even rode just adds insult to injury! This so called agreement obviously needs looking at so our clubs know when and when not to arrange clashing fixtures, especially with so many blank dates in our fixture list there's really no excuse for this kind of thing to be happening -

Your last sentence is bang on! This sport (?) is very expensive for competitors and you cannot blame riders for chasing the money and if we’re brutally honest most of us would have done what Dan T did yesterday. If Phil Morris hadn’t dropped his pants and bent over to Poland regarding Thursdays these situations would not generate such frustration among followers of the sport in the UK. -
Well done Bears but why not put Jody in heat 14 and get it won before the last race?

To be honest I don't give a toss who is at fault. You can blame Morris, you can blame the UK clubs for riding knowing their talent won't be there, you can blame the rider for signing a contract that hasn't got the right clauses in it... All I know is, that as a paying customer of British Speedway, I'm sick of it, it's literally almost every match effected by one thing or another and... I'm as mad as hell and I'm not going to take this anymore 😂 I'll be picking and choosing my matches in future when riders decide they don't want to ride for their team. Whoever has advised Dan Thompson to sign for Lodz on those terms has done him no favours. If the rider is good enough they'll always negotiate from a position of strength and he'll be able to name his terms. That's just business. -

Not as simple as that though is it. Hes signed a contract in Poland for weekends, with the odd chance of a weekday meeting. Can't expect dan to. Not sign a deal in Poland incase lodz ride the odd Thursday. End of the day the blame lies totally with Morris for giving Poland priority on Thursdays. -
The Sprint Race Debate

Speedway races are sprints anyway. -
never been banned get your facts right

Easy way out there putting all 4 back. Lambert tries to Run Dan wide first bend and ends up on his own backside with no contact. Should’ve went for falling on his own.
-
Were you planning on watching it through a gap in the fence if it was on Davie? Seeing as your barred from getting in..

I would think a new comer would be more likely to ask questions. My teenage daughter has been coming to the speedway for about a year now and she asks lots of questions and I’d have to answer I don’t know. I don’t think that’s being negative? Could you explain it? This is just yet another situation where the rules aren’t clear or even non existent. I still can’t point to the law that resulted in Workingtons points deduction last year. I’m not picking on this particular situation the whole system is broken. Any other sports in the case of Workington would have published the breach of the rule or law. This case is a grey area and there should be no grey areas. How can anyone take the sport seriously if the governing body doesn’t?

I love Jason Edwards, he's one of my favourite riders around and he seems like such a nice lad, so I feel awful suggesting this but: Simon Lambert and Jason Edwards out Charles Wright and 2.19 in Tom Spencer? Charlie Southwick? Jack Roberts? Really feel like Jake Mulford is starting to find a little form this season, so I don't see the number 4 spot being too bad for him, particularly at home, and it allows Charles back in the team and Nicolai to stay, meaning the back end of the meeting will be stronger. Jake Allen as 3rd heat leader is very strong and Jody or Ace at 2 and 6 means there'll always be a solid 2 and very good 6 in the team. Just need to find a 2.00er who can pick up a couple of points here and there. The team looks way more balanced like this imo. 1. Charles Wright 9.11 2. Jody Scott 4.40 3. Jake Allen 6.64 4. Jake Mulford 4.56 5. Nicolai Klindt 8.73 6. Ace Pijper 4.37 7. 2.19

A very pertinent comment on this evenings Polish coverage from @TTT Where he mentions how injuries have made this Polish season interesting as the big guns have been impacted by injuries, so other teams can compete... That is sport.... In the UK, Wroclaw, and Gorzow, as an example, would have brought in guests from other teams to cover... If Poland did that, they know they are finished as fans, sponsors, and TV would walk away.. A few years ago Wroclaw, the best team overall, got hammered in the final due to their injuries... Sh*t Hapoens... That is sport... -
Personally I think the FIM are to blame, they are the ones who set the technical regs. In sports like F1 they press the reset button every few years or the cars would be far too dangerous for the tracks they are racing on, the FIM don't seem to do this, for Speedway at least.

Howarth factor involved maybe, but that’s the way the sport is run these days.Weather forecast doesn’t look as dire as made out.
