  1. Past hour
  2. Be great for all teams to be equal but it's probably down to money. Sorry to be ignorant but know little about sunny but do you think they could attract big name riders don't wish to sound whatever but Lawson well hope not ,Nicholls, our new boy Cairns etc or are your promoters just happy to run every year and support speedway.
  3. I think for pure excitement. Peter Collins had it in bundles with his blasts around the outside. I always thought Mark Courtney had a very smooth natural style. Both completely different but both good to watch.
  4. But you said, 13 years ago, on here, "Graeme Smith was known as 'The White Knight' - hence my name on this Forum. He rode in white leathers." 🤣
  5. I'll always fall back to the guy that made me love this game: Henka Gustafsson Close calls were: Mark Loram & Bo Brhel.
  6. But I still don't understand why they'd get rid of the RS system to save money. If they could lower the points limit so a number one is replaced by a 4-5 point rider, but keep a RS, that would make more sense to me!
  7. Excellent post say it as it is. The Ford's love Poole speedway and it's run as a very successful business. People can slate the track or whatever but why do riders go to Poole because they win trophies however it's not important as I have been told on here a few years ago but it is if your a rider so is getting paid on time and Poole meets that criterior. Anyhow off me soapbox back to the San Miguel.
  8. Never liked coloured Leathers. I thought Black Leathers looked great to me. With a proper Race Jacket - just Club Crest on the Front and Number on the back. Those definitely WERE the days.
  9. Today
  10. Ivan Mauger - no contest. Peter Craven was my hero, but I never saw him ride. I became a Speedway fan in 1964. Sadly Peter had passed away by then.
  11. Further thoughts could be ….. 1- Klindt 2- Tobias T 3- Batchelor 4- Barker 5- Nicholls 6- Klima 7- 2.0 reserve or if no klindt maybe swap him and batch as that would be unlikely for the Thompson twins.
  12. Ryan Terry-Daley, a 31-year-old speedway rider from Waiuku, Auckland, died in a single-vehicle car crash on Aka Aka Road in Waikato on October 5, 2025. His death was not a result of a speedway track incident. Details of the crash: The incident occurred early in the morning, with emergency services called to the scene just before 5:30 a.m.. Media reports indicate it was a wet night with heavy storms, and Daley was believed to have been the sober driver. Police are still investigating the specific circumstances of the crash. Following his death, the speedway community in New Zealand and the UK paid tribute to Daley, who was a mentor and champion racer.
  13. Quite similar to F1 - watch the tv ads, highlighting the crashes!
  14. Wonder whether Belle Vue will have 2 gp’s next year?
