decent enough meeting, score doesnt really reflect how close it was, this time it was us with the unfortunate bike problems, that happens, as always things even themselves out in the end after lynns problems in the first fixture. very impressed with tate last night, and once again away from home its the heats 13/15 that cost us really, im shocked everyone still blames the bottom end of the team for the troubles

Speedway possibly needs go the same way as cricket. Look how the hundred has attracted huge crowds due to a different approach with the format with world class players performing every match. The cricket purists said it wouldn't work and have been proved wrong. Perhaps a similar thing should be tried and with a little thought and proper promotion you never know.

Poole vs Glasgow KOC SF 1st leg 27/08/25

So are Glasgow going to join every other club and start streaming matches? It’s ludicrous that they don’t and of course have been missing a money stream while denying fans from all over the country from seeing their wonderful, bestest ever, dogs danglies, bigly magnificent race track. They can’t honestly expect ageing speedway fans to travel hundreds of miles in each direction to watch 90 mins of live action, but they can charge £12.99 that they wouldn’t have made with a stream. And it doesn’t have to cost much. Redcar’s streaming is basic but good enough. Two cameras. One static IRRC. One guy on a mic. Job done. Everyone happy. Sort it out please. Yes, stuck record. -

LEICESTER: v BIRMINGHAM: Thursday 28th August PL2
IainB replied to Brummies_Ste's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Kudos to Leicester who interviewed Andy Grahame, Nigel Tolley, Laurance Rogers and after the match the whole of the Birmingham team and management for those who stayed behind, even though there wasn't much said by the riders that wasn't about themselves, most of these riders seem to be so out of touch with the club and fans they ride for, sometimes it seems as though it would be better if they kept their helmets on and we could just live with the illusion that they actually care about the club they ride for. Not so much kudos to Mr Zagar though, while a bit of language doesn't particularly bother me, effing & jeffing over the PA to the crowd is not big, clever or particularly that funny. After the Allen/Wright fine I fully expect Mr Zagar to be receiving a similar fine for breach of SCB Reg 017.2 h) The use of any accessible form of media to propagate foul, abusive or offensive language, profane activity or fraudulent comments against any rider, official or member of the SCB or deemed to bring the ACU, SCB or BSP LTD into disrepute. -
King’s Lynn Stars vs Belle Vue Aces - Thursday 28th August
ouch replied to StarBoy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Pleasing result for The Aces with better a performance from our reserves. Shame about Jaimon but these things happen and even an average return from him would have seen another away win, not that it was needed. I was 250 miles away but even I could hear Brady say f*#^ that in his last two rides and it difficult to argue against that when comparing a late season filler to the world crown. After this, I’m very optimistic about our play off meetings given the form of our bottom four and the scores to be delivered by our top three. Exciting times again on the domestic and world front for Aces fans. -
Initially coming in it did look a right old state but after all the work it looked good to me, but truly what do I know, I'm just some fat lad stood in stands who's only chucked his leg over a 125cc. I was that confident it was going to run I'd gone to grab a pint and whilst in the queue they made the call it was off. Do feel mostly for the visiting Ipswich fans which there was a good amount and can relate to how they feel- we went all to Birmingham many years ago and in very similar circumstances it absolutely chucked it down just before the meeting and got rained off its crap. Also feel for the track staff who you could see were working absolutely overtime to sort the track. For people who are ultimately volunteers they certainly did not shy away from putting in the effort. I think the riders could've given it a go personally. But we'll truly never know whether it was some being overly cautious or if the track wasn't rideable.

Funny how so many of the 50/50 calls seem to go in one particular direction... and I'm not just talking about this meeting... -
Obviously you weren't there.Tate and Mulford done well.3+1 away for Mulford is ok for a rs imo.Cook steady as usual. The only real let down was Lidsey who rates Lynn as his favourite away track if it isn't too grippy.Bewley is so fast on a bike.Kurtz also probably let Belle Vue down in his last 2 rides, well off the pace in them.Going into the last 3 races I fully expected Belle Vue to at least get a draw on the night, but that changed with the downturn of Kurtz form on the night.

What surprises me is that it was cancelled because it wasn't unanimous amongst the riders wanting to give it a go. I would imagine the likes of Danny King would relish the conditions, or at the very least adapt and do well whereas certain others possibly from the southern hemisphere may not fancy it. Reminds me of kings lynn 2017

Seems like the right call to me Sheffield is the most dangerous track in the league and add on the conditions it could have been a nightmare And before the usual suspects start moaning Sheffield and Belle Vue are the fastest tracks by some way but Sheffield is narrower and as Jack Holder says it only has one real line out wide so it becomes more dangerous on that aspect alone

See this is the problem ignorant people having a sly dig at Glasgow without knowing the full facts. An unlikeable self entitled fanbase and then having a cheap shot for helping another club out. Tells you everything you need to know about them. -

I think most would see this as a rant of someone whose team lost and trying to make excuses why they lost. Glasgow do not have a stream so most of us will not be able to see the meeting and comment on how amazing it is, plenty of dirt on the track, passing on every bend etc. -
With the final 3 matches of the regular season next Wednesday, we now know that Slangerup will host the Grand final on 24th September. Vojens are looking favourites to join them in the final by finishing 2nd. Holsted look likely to host the Semi on Wednesday 17th September. They will be joined by Grindsted, Esbjerg and Fjelsted with Region Varde the team missing out.

So Redcar have booked Vuolas who will more then likely help Redcar get the point ( I know they'll likely win at home next week Vs Workington anyway but) they need to secure the playoffs ahead of the team he's employed by? Only in Speedway 🤣 Ben Trigger guests for Declan Kennedy

Zischke rode well tbf to him. Deserved more than his 5 points from 5 rides suggests. On another night he might’ve scored 8/9 as he was on the pace throughout. Lidsey was the real let down and he was the key. Expected a far, far better night given his previous record around the AFA. Prior to yesterday, he had scored a very impressive 46 from 25 races in his last 5 visits for an average of 7.36. That swing was the difference.
