What will 2026 UK speedway bring?
TTT replied to Lionsman66's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
If it's two leagues in 2026 then Glasgow and Poole shouldn't be allowed to compete in the Championship for starters. Both clubs have the finances, sponsorship and a successful business model in place to run in the Premiership. 7/8 Team PREMIERSHIP (Belle Vue, Glasgow, Ipswich, King's Lynn, Leicester, Poole, Scunthorpe & Sheffield?) 7/8 Team CHAMPIONSHIP (Berwick, Edinburgh, Mildenhall, Northampton?, Oxford, Plymouth, Redcar & Workington) -

More misinformation and fuel testing was not the reason Lawson missed the Glasgow meeting. -
Sad News. Whoever is interested will surely want too know what is in the pipeline for next season before even thinking about becoming involved and investing in the sport.( might well know already though).BSPA have more secrets than the Masonic Lodge.

Fingers crossed Nigel Tolley keeps Sheffield Speedway alive, Don't want to see the Sport in this country lose another club. Hope to hear some positive news in the near future.

Thanks for buying the stream -
Well you were a co director at Brum so would have more of an idea than most of us 🫠, the rumour has been around for a few months now and he is good friends with Drillerman, my only surprise is that a deal has not already been done, which throws a little doubt as to why hats have not been doffed already, unless it's because Mrs Tophat prefers him to take a year out.

Oh no ..... not another cheat. 😞 Thought all methanol had to be purchased at the track to avoid this sort of thing happening ? Then we had Edward Kennett and the infamous silencer tampering scandal - a Poole Rider at the time I think ? All tyres have to be issued at the track after the tyre tampering scandal some years ago - oh I think that involved the Poole team too ? -
Enter Nigel Tolley…

Sad to hear this. Let's all hope that a credible new owner will pick up the reins. Lost my track 51 years ago now - Sunderland 'Stars' so I know how you Sheffield Fans are feeling at the moment. -
Ipswich Witches 2025

Looks like a good and interesting formula of racing at Tiger's Academy . Nice to see something a little different from the usual 15 heat formula . Hope the youngsters dont get over enthusiastic and try out the air fence too often. Ipswich were always leaders in doing something different with their 16 lapper being innovative. -
You have to take your top hat off to whoever buys it!

Regardless of what supporters of some other clubs might think of Sheffield, this sport needs this club. Hopefully they will have a buyer, but let’s face it, owning a speedway club will never be anything other than an extremely expensive hobby. Say what you like about the top hatted badge seller, but he will plough money into the sport and does not appear to be deterred by failure. As a speedway fan I see this as yet another kick in the b4lls for British speedway. Going on previous posts by PhilTheAce, he does seem to have reliable inside information, so hopefully there is a willing buyer prepared to take over. The talk on this forum is of possibly one big league next season. At the moment, one ‘who ever is left’ league would seem more appropriate.

Oh dear ... you thought that they could have invited a couple of NDL riders along as track reserves ? Running races with riders missing. Very amateur and would have expected better from promoter Ford. Whats all this guff about Lawson and fuel testing - whats he running on nitro ? -

I thought race nights were a deal breaker? Unless they are planning on making the Championship a lot weaker next season, then I can't see Poole changing race nights to go to the Prem. -

I'd say there would be huge question marks over the bottom four of your Premiership list which makes that set up very unlikely -
