Watching football tonight they said something about a player than no-one liked apart from supporters of the team he played for. This reminded me of a couple of riders from when I was a kid supporting Ipswich. Namely Preben Eriksen and Tim Hunt. Favourites of mine when riding for Ipswich for sure. Any memories from Ipswich fans? No doubt other teams had similar former favourites too.

My memory might be cloudy as I was only 12 but sacking Hibbs seemed premature at the time. I thought he was doing ok and we didn’t cover for him that well afterwards did we? I think Baldwin did well some of the time.

Can someone remind me what happened with him? Seemed to be on the verge of going places in 1996 (or 1997?) and then his average dropped massively. Had a gap and returned but totally flopped as I recall. What happened? Did he get injured?

Can someone remind me about him? I seem to recall his form was very up and down and included loads of retirements. Anyone know why?

No, I would assume not. Russia are still attacking Ukraine. In any case, do either of them want to do the GPs? Tied up to the issue of riding as a poles in the Polish league as well innit. And given there are only 3 wild cards, given that two of which must go to Holder and Bewley, that only leaves one for someone else anyway.

A really huge crowd tonight -- FIM events apart, surely the biggest since coming back to Shielfield Park? Full marks to the promotion for marketing their product so well

Excellent performance from Berwick and some decent racing, that’s a bigger lead than I expected, gonna take really big effort from The Gladiators in the second leg to turn this around. Really pleased to hear that Nick Morris is coming back next season, that capped off what was a really good way to end the season at Shielfield , here’s to next year

I would say why is the GP final being held when Berwick are at Home 🤔😂

Form massively dipped for Gladiators in their few matches. Shame he was having a really good season. 58 should be more than enough for Berwick. Great to see a different winner especially after being the shafted in the winter ref team selection.

Big shout out to all the travelling fans tonight. Did your club proud. By far the noisiest and most animated away fans we have had this season. You lot played a big part in making the atmosphere electric tonight. Looking forward to coming down for the second leg.

There’ll now be a “World Champion” tax. If he was expensive before this evening, he’s just got a lot more so..

After listening to the Richard Coleman interview on speedway 360, i have no issues with it being at Ipswich especially when he was talking through all the track prep in the GPs. Also like the idea in Poland where a club gets more tv money for the amount of passes you get. We should definitely do that!

Can we?? Would he?? Should we?? If ever there was a time for King's Lynn Speedway to have an open cheque book, it has to be for the home coming of a World Champion doesn't it?? If Robert Lambert chooses to return to the UK, we CANNOT allow him to be elsewhere, especially at Ipswich.

Tbf some of them also might support Man City so been a tough sport week for them 🤭
