  1. Past hour
  2. Very impressive at worky on Saturday only 15 agree he is hopefully going places, can pass and seems to be having fun on the bike. Hope he keeps grounded, and not another Ashton boughen. Will be lots of clubs after him for 2026, but I've heard it's all sorted, gonna be at a south coast club.🤔
  3. Because 3-3 is not a heat advantage 🤔
  4. The two 4-2s are both heat advantages. A 5-1 and a 3-3 is a heat advantage and a drawn heat. The rule is most heat advantages. Not difficult to comprehend really.
  5. Because a 3-3 is not a heat advantage. This situation I'm told has never happened quite this way before, ever. The rule was there for the day it did. It will probably never happen again.
  6. Scott "Well ahead of his time" Nicholls had the answer... Rock, Paper, Scissors... Sorted.....
  7. So we draw nearer to the 'big decision' regarding UK speedways future. Hopefully the right call is made to assist clubs long term involvement. I like a bit of nostalgia so I looked back at my first season of watching speedway. It was 1970 Workington Comets giving fantastic thrills via Bob (Mr. Excitement)Valentine and co. Do you know there were 19 teams in Division One and 17 teams in Division Two = 36 teams in that season? So each team with 7 riders times 36 = 252 riders...Yes I've been told some doubled up on previous posts I've made on this forum - but hey not a great many riders did that. Which makes it most likely 200 + riders made it a sport to be proud of and well loved by many fans.(Apparently the third most popular UK sport then). So nowadays the sport struggles along via 16 clubs, most riders using the doubling up farce - probably less than 100 riders entertaining us. I have no advice to give a cure all to keep UK speedway afloat other than I think one division needs to be given at least a fair trial???? Who knows, if successful, fans and riders may well flock back.
  8. Poole clear favourites to any non Poole supporter Ipswich were clear favourite in the top league but Leicester made them work hard and Glasgow might do Let’s not kid ourselves how much the Poole reserves are better than Glasgow It will take a monumental effort from Glasgow over 2 legs to win this
  9. Today
  10. Do you know which league they've pulled out of ? If it's PL CL and NDL again it could be Cheetahs moving up to PL or staying CL. If it's one league then every club is dropping out of either PL or CL to create whatever the new league is called.
  11. I went to a few meetingsand world championship at Wembley ,British riders at Bellvue etc in the 70's and odd meets in the 80's, but it was only when I moved from Somerset to Herefordshire in the 90's that I started to attend every Newport Wasps ( and Mavericks) home meetings and the odd away meeting when they were riding. it was the Watson, Smart, era that really got me hooked, likewise it was the demise of the Wasps which got me to being an occasional speedway attendee once again, plus a few Grasstrack meets, now there is value for money, lots of races, fast programme and few breaks in between.
  12. It probably will with Mr Roger’s involvement
  13. I was born in Wolverhampton and have always been a wolves fan and always will be but when I joined Berwick in 1999 and 2000 it became like a second home, I loved it there, the Berwick folk made me feel like one of theirs, often stayed up there with the meldrums and was often in the town or on the beach, loved the place and still do, so it definitely captured my heart
  14. Genius idea. Go one better and make another series of that Harry's Heroes. Get Loram, Floppy Norris, Dean Barker out of retirement for one last rodeo.
  15. Oh dear. 0 for Hodder then. Not much better for Perry Either and now Harris off form
