Lets be honest here, the only thing that really matters with the AGM and in 2026 is which teams are lining up to tapes. Hopefully this is the real rock-bottom and that things can only improve and strengthen from here. It'll be a herculean task with everyone involved pulling their weight. Surely it can't get much worse right? ...right?!

Regardless of whether he has apologised or not, it's completely up to the general public as to whether they support his reintroduction to speedway or not. I think personally a lot of promoters will be prepared to give him a wide berth just purely because it could damage attendance if a convicted felon signs for a team. Speedway as a whole in this country operates on a bare bones level (give or take a handful of genuinely well supported teams) so in my opinion it's just too risky to give him a shot. Think of it from this perspective, if he applied for a job in a supermarket and they rejected him because of his past, would you be surprised? I wouldn't.

Not sure there is transparency in most sports, it is all about covering their backs and treating us all like mushrooms.

If we pay our money at the turnstiles we are entitled to our opinion whether you or the promoters like it or not

If there was transparency and fans were kept up to date with decisions and the reasons behind them, we wouldn’t need all this speculation. BUT….there’s never been transparency in speedway for some strange reason….

The sport in this country is mainly ran by fans with a few ex riders tagging along. Reading this forum gives an indication as to why our sport is where it is. I can’t get behind such a repetitive league but my favourite meeting of last season was when our rivals met us for the 10th time. We don’t need top stars but I’d be there every time my favourite top rider showed up, no matter how often his team visited. We need someone from outside the sport to manage things but when that sees the rule book being upheld then I’d prefer a closed shop. We don’t need top stars and the sport is too expensive to watch and needs to be at weekends. Colts get 500 people turning out to watch lesser riders at the weekend for £15. Fans need to identify with riders who are part of the team over many seasons but if they ride bad for a few meetings I’d like them replaced. The rules need to be followed though if it helps my team to fudge them a bit then I’m all for that. It’s vital we get a tv deal but I hate tv meetings due to all the delays. I’m sick of guests even though my team used less guests over the last five seasons than it did during five seasons in its hay day. My favourite race this year was the final heat of the British Final. Races like that could only help make the sport more popular but I do like how riders follow each other around at my tricky home track. The above displays a large amount of self interest on the fans part making them ideal to become the next generation of promoters.

Not sure we’ll have any official announcements today - tho it would be good if it did happen. More likely to be tomorrow or even Thursday.

As many of us are, although doubtful we will have any official announcements today (Tuesday) with Wednesday or Thursday being more likely.

Part of me gets this, but as you know most promotions are only breaking even at the very best, look at Plymouth the boss has stated he has lost 350k over 7 years !!! So if 2H 2A that's potentially more money for the clubs to lose, but if it stays 1H 1A more clubs may stand s chance of breaking even via help from sponsorship
