  1. Past hour
  2. If the BSPL really don't like draws, why stop half way? Award 2 points for a superheat win & 0 for a superheat loss?
  3. Interesting what Buster said about the track. However, watching from the terraces it didn't seem to give riders any trouble. Just seemed surprisingly slick, which played to Leicesters far superior gating strength. The sun is awkward as it shines directly onto start gate, but never used to be an issue, only seems to be a modern thing? Or was the sun in a different place on Saturday nights? The racing this year has been very good most meetings, but last night was truly awful. All the extra track work made s0d all difference to the racing, just dragged out what was basically a cr@p meeting. Thank God the crowd was poor... On a different subject, have they seen sense and opened the main gate to back car park again rather than clog up the industrial estate?
  4. We just wanted to prolong the agony for you having to watch your team get smashed 🤩
  5. Lambert always tries his best at Ashfield, crowd got behind him when pushing bike for the point,Think he blew an engine later in the meeting. What was David Howe doing, he should have used a Tac Sub, but didnt, was that because he knew it was a waste of time !!!!!
  6. You try getting a no1 to guest at Plymouth on a Saturday night, easier said than done.
  7. It looks to me the arrival of Barry bishop has had a major impact on the improvement of presentation coupled with the track widening. great to see.
  8. There are number One riders out there that can guest, but Plymouth choose to use lesser riders at number one, that to me is "cheating the public". Perthaps I'm "constantly preaching negativity" on the Forum because the sport is going down the pan and clubs are consistently allowing it to happen, rather than try to do something about it. As for the "sport will soon be gone" see above.
  9. They only had three turnstiles for the visits of Ipswich. One response was, "get there earlier"!!! Another was "buy in advance" - but with KL's record for call-offs it can't be that tempting for visiting fans ...
  10. Ok let's remove the if. I absolutely can confirm 100%, that even with Lidsey riding and winning his first 2 races, it would not in anyway changed the fact we could use Kurtz as an R/R in heat 7. 😀

  12. There's not really any need for it but as a neutral I certainly don't mind seeing another race with the top riders. Before heat 15 last night I was hoping for that result for another chance to see those four. For anyone more involved I understand why it's seen as a farce though.
  13. True but before the superheat came along, you had 2 league points for an away draw and 1 point for a home one. So with Ipswich winning the superheat, not any difference in the end.
  14. I said all this when it was first introduced. The final heat in a match that ends as a draw is the exciting crescendo - that's it! The final heat in a match that ends 46-44 or 44-46 is most likely a tense or exciting crescendo - why is that result any different to a draw? The Stupid Heat is a gimmick. The usual BSPA/L "good idea" that is accepted without any testing or wargaming.
  15. Lol, they don't do that anymore thank god. Different dj now who doesn't do it.
  16. Agree with the above, but Pirates have been making heavy weather of getting the wins of late. All riders and teams tend to have "off" periods during a season, I'm just hoping that this is Poole's off period, and that they hit some real form come the sharp end of the season. Would be good to have Anders flying again, Smarte seems like he's sulking a bit not being top reserve, and have Cairnes getting a fews scores too.
  17. Need one for aggregate win, unless you go back to 1 v 1 run off.
  18. What like Poole fans sit in their wooden cranky seats with tartan rugs over their knees waving phone lights to sweet Caroline pathetic and cringeworthy 🤣🤣🤣
  19. Hi Phil, I assume it's too late to make changes now? Blodorn has the occasional decent race, although very inconsistent, but the two reserves are a worry. If changes can't be made then they need to up their game significantly.
  20. That has to be one of the funniest (and most accurate!) responses ever to one of the forums biggest trolls. Congrats!
  21. You’re absolutely correct. The only occasion a superheat could be worth considering would be to decide the aggregate point if/when the scores are level after the two matches. Or maybe not award one in the event of a tied aggregate?
  22. Today
  23. I read somewhere they only had 3 turnstiles/pay points open for the Knockout Cup final and that's what caused the delay.
  24. I don't see the need for it. If a meeting ends in a draw then it's already been an exciting end to the meeting with a lady heat decider. While some say it's extra value for money for fans & an extra heat to watch. That's not something fans can plan for, a fan on the fence about whether they go to watch a match, isn't going to day "you know what, let's go incase we get an extra race for our money". I just don't see what's wrong with a drawn meeting!
  25. Nicholls isn't an official is he, he's just part of the TV crew, he could ask them to arm wrestle for all I care. Surely the riders, managers or referee should have told him "no we need to do a coin toss"?
  26. It’s a silly concept … Ipswich deserved a draw last night and so did Belle Vue for battling back
