I just think it's a negative tactic, something I'd use if I expected to lose heavily, but wanted to limit the damage. Not something I'd do if I needed a win to make the play-offs.

I'm not saying they're free points but surely you take them when you can rather than risk being beaten by a stronger opponent. How often do you see a tac sub being made in a normal race and they trail in at the back or in 3rd, too often I'd say.
