We will have to wait and see to what extent the changes are “interesting” or otherwise but most probably nothing more than something to dumb down the league competition on the basis of survival tactics rather than introducing something resembling a plan for growth. I really do hope I’m wrong but nothing in terms of changes made by the collective promoters during the past decade give me faith to the contrary.

Well, somebody should have told Jack Holder that last Thursday night vs Leicester, his 2 races vs Douglas and Fricke were incredibly risky and a joy to watch. Whether that was more down to personal rivalry than club rivalry is probably a fair question to ask, it certainly wouldn't have been for the money. But don't be too quick to do British Speedway down, it still has its moments

If reports he got booed at Sheffield are correct think he wont need much firing up 😉 Sheffield are capable of springing a good result away as we have seen this season a couple of times, But with Fricke who has been brilliant this season, Masters and Douglas also going well its a difficult task, Hopefully Becker picks up his form for the Lions, that was my one doubt with the Lions as R/R worked so well. Having said all that im going for a comfortable home win.

Well he tried his best at Sheffield including getting Rowe excluded in heat 14 so I dont think you can question his committment. If Leicester blow this now it will be a massive shock, they could do with Becker scoring a few to make it easier and Joe T riding better would help, Rowe goes well at Leicester usually so that will help Sheffield but overall I cant see how it will be close.

Well you can count me out if that’s the level of speedway served up. I’ll be washing my hair Thursday evenings! 🙄

GP line-up for 2026
Col replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
And as I stated... if those riders drop out for the following year but qualify again the experience will do them no harm long term... as it did for Woffinden. Might Be's are preferable to Never Gonna Be's. -

Personally think this will be easy for Leicester, Max will go through the card, he doesnt need to gate to win races at Leicester, Magic is a good guest although Morris used to be excellent at Beaumont Park, Magic has some great battles with Doyley way back but he isnt that rider anymore. Masters and Douglas and to a lesser degree Howarth are good too so just dont see it being close.

Speedway 2026 ??

Horrific!! Anything close to line ups such as those would be the end of British Speedway -
Congrats to Bomber for finishing 2nd in World Long Track championship

Yes, the Lions have lost twice at home this season, as have the mighty Ipswich. Janowski is probably the best choice from riders available to replace Morris, but he isn’t the rider he was, which is why his average fits to cover Morris. Yes, anything can happen in the playoffs, but the Lions will be bitterly disappointed if they do not progress after Thursday’s Houdini act in Sheffield. Really hoping for a Lions v Witches final but if the Lions don’t get over the line, I will not have a problem with Ipswich taking the honours (despite what some people might think 😉).

Kvech's had his chance and so has Kai, so no arguments there, but I'd rather have Doyle at the moment as adds spice. Each to their own I suppose. One thing for sure is that the 3 wildcards won't be universally welcomed no matter who they are. 😂
