Young Aussies these days want to try Denmark and Poland first nowadays but it’s a tough gig compared to GB IMO. Bowes needs a rethink if you go by his Posts on social media. plus some media training.

What will 2026 UK speedway bring?
YeOldPitGate replied to Lionsman66's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I do wonder if the best of pretty much a load of bad choices would be to somehow get both leagues up to 8 teams each then race once home and away then into play offs. Okay it's not many fixtures but look at the struggle every year to try and get matches over the line even in the current reduced format where your running into October cold nights/rain etc. Second given most teams rent/lease the stadium they run in, losses should in theory be roughly halved due to reduced number of meetings plus you won't end up seeing the same visiting away teams at home 3-5 times a season. As others have said the biggest conundrum is one big league won't work, so the most important thing is running on your best target market night and within your means, the progress made by Plymouth this year is a rare ray of light, the issue for them is hoping they have some teams to race against in 2026. The Fords and Glasgow management might be tempted up for a shortened 7 home and away fixture list on the basis of losses might be contained or they might even make a tiny profit if they get to play offs. Very few/if any good choices sadly but that's the best outcome I can think of the Poles run once home and away and are making a far better fist of it than the UK. -
That my point about riders whose ambitions are in Poland even if your decent over here your just “used” in Poland. As a lot of them have found out. Bowes has attended meetings in Poland missing fixtures in GB and has just sat in the pits not being used. His last match in Poland was 4 rides 0 pts hardly inspiring stuff.

Yes that's what i was hinting at...fans will clearly support a winning team !!!!!!
-
Sand racing would be better. At least no rain offs with flooded tracks

His Excellency (you have to say that loads of times if your Hearn or Warren!) Turki Al-Sheikh could be interested in Speedway. Someone at Sheffield should get in contact with him on social media and find out. Could end up with Speedway in Saudi Arabia! Could hold a GP over there.

But the reserve cam be used whenever. -
Yes that is what I saw but it is probably a mistake as all other sites seem to list it as the KOCup meeting.

Not sure about Fricke. But think Dan, Brady and Doyle are. There was a time when Lambert was living in Germany? But feel like it could be Poland now 🤷♀️ So do Poole, so that is mainly to do with winning rather than GP riders, if that is what you meant.

Ipswich 1500-2000 regularly with 'big' meetings ar double that I wonder why?
-
Ideally someone with plenty of money Phil, Nigel seems to have uber deep pockets but if he does come in pray god he gets a good team around him for once, so that he can hopefully break even rather than keep dropping 100-200k per season.

One league or two that is the question? So you list a crop of 'top riders' who won't be able to ride in a one league system. And so many, too many, double up to make a living?...So the loss of those star performers will affect speedway attendances will it? I don't think it can do so as attendances are surely already dire. Let's have a guess at how many watch the current batch of stars i.e. GP level and "the so called lesser riders"....lose them all and attendances will plummet?..But come on how many teams get a decent crowd nowadays? So I think one league is the best format and hopefully the stars will re-consider deserting the UK and eventually return. Can anyone tell me approx attendances for each UK team - I bet not many attract 1000+???

Fraser is owed a small fortune from Poland same as a lot of riders this year, that’s why they are chucking the under 24 league and making it a junior league next year
