  1. Today
  2. considering the very very limited rider options available to them when forming st the very last minute, the team has proven to be extremely competitive. we lost heavily at belle vue and Leicester on the bank holiday Monday when ZAGAR broke his ankle in the morning snd we were already running with guests to 70% of n k iversen’s . we hsve taken almost every other match to a last heat decider. No one expected us to be any where near that competitive!!!! out problem is that we are a team full of inconsistent riders. It’s never the same rider each meeting ( apart from batchelor), but it’s always someone. hence Klindt having three bike failures tonight for instance. this team is one of the decent rider away from being a playoff team. Problem is, getting that rider. Let’s cross our fingers because if we do so quickly, we can still make the playoffs.
  3. They are rock bottom and have won one match all season. If you call that competitive then good luck to you.
  4. Tbf to kurtz. Heat 1 norick took him out bend 1 when on a 5-1 He was decent in his next 3. But engine blew on run to line in 13 so didn't expect him to come out
  5. Yesterday
  6. Actually the team has been competitive more often than not, rarely get beaten by a lot, but unfortunately are getting beaten a lot.
  7. That's a random take. I don't think any 'World Class' rider wouldn't sign on the basis of who rides when they're not there. Sheffield's home stats are also showing that Jack being missing shouldn't effect the result that greatly. Jack has averages less than 8.00 so far at home in 2026 & tonight the covering riders managed an 8.00 average. Sheffield was 10 up after 10 and 5-1'd heat 15. Only heat 13 the result could have been different but with that being possibly the strongest heat in a meeting, winning isn't guaranteed. It is an absolutely terrific result for the Stars and some credit should be given to them for turning around a 10 point deficit with 5 heats left. To do that away from home, especially at Sheffield, was an incredible turnaround.
  8. This league is pants, and the sooner it's back to basics and one league the better. All I will say is congratulations must go to Lynn on a 60 year wait for a first ever win at Sheffield.
  9. Mostly Poole fans having a go at other teams, been happening for years, it's not right but SOME Poole fans make a rod for their own backs and then moan when the boots on the other foot
  10. That's exactly what it is, nobody cares, especially about British Speedway. Rider's who have decent contracts in Poland see British Speedway as pocket money, it's no longer 'a wage'. Do folk through the gates even cover riders salaries now or is Sponsorships the main provider? Lap of honours, do they serve a purpose now anyway when fans can't hang over the fence for high 5s anymore? That was a pathetic thing to ban. One of the very last things in the sport that had that close interaction between fans & riders.
  11. On the face of things, his score tonight looks half decent but in reality , it was far from so being. he got a very lucky two points in heat 7 when two riders suffered machine problems. Managed to go from first to last twice and was passed far too easily to lose points in other races which was very very frustrating when he appears to switch off on the last bend to allow Kurtz to pip him. how odd that every time he gets overtaken, he shows no fight snd is always looking down at his bike as if to look for an excuse there, rather than admit he has no fight, no desire and in my opinion, no interest in the teams results.
  12. It will happen and very soon in my humble opinion. I have a sneaky feeling there might even be a surprise departure before to long . Nothing more than a gut feeling but, a strong one.
  13. First time visit and this is my observations. Firstly, why is there no signs anywhere directing you to Northampton Shaleway. Driving along the Bedford Road(A428) towards Braefield, where you turn right into Horton Road there should be a big sign pointing the way. Not just for Speedway, but what about the Stocks who get far bigger crowds. Parking was easy and organised. Once in the Stadium, the Burger Bar could of done with a third person serving. Prices were a lot cheaper than i have been paying at many Cricket Grounds this summer. Long queues for the bar(on a hot night) and again they could of done with another person serving. The crowd was bigger than when i went to Belle Vue last week. I'd guess 1,500-2,000. Racing was ok but mainly follow the leader after the 1st/2nd bends. Why was the track not watered more often. After heat 4 & heat 7 the tractor graded but no water put down. By heat 9 things were getting uncomfortable with the dust, apart from being on my hair & skin, it was starting to make my eyes sting. At interval after heat 10, track was watered and rest of meeting was bearable with minimal dust. Not to many problems getting out after meeting ended. Overall though, an enjoyable evening and i would attend again, but not on a regular basis as i live 70 miles away. Was told they are putting a roof on the stand in the close season and only other thing is could they not have a scoreboard, for those that don't fill programmes. Surprised there isn't one for the Stock racing.
  14. Maybe but I think it’s sour grapes from our manager We was 6 points up after 11 heats and if kemp hadn’t have fallen in heat 11 Leicester could not have used a tac sub in heat 12 Is Hurry seriously blaming Dickson when after 11 heats we was 6 clear!???
  15. Nothing wrong with R/R for any rider it’s a rule that works and always has just unfortunate that tonight every team was riding
  16. Just hype for the cup final... nobody really gives a toss about the league until the pay offs
  17. Expected result really Doyle showing again that he gives 110% in every meeting even if it is just before a GP…. No single figure score from him and did heat 15 with the match on the line
  18. Don’t agree with Hurry here The track was horrific early on and then was like riding on concrete

  20. If only I was a betting man! What let us down tonight was gating in the later stages … Leicester out gated us in almost the last 6 heats and fair play to them R/R didn’t cost us but 2 from MPT did Brennan looks so poor at the moment .. lifts out of every start and didn’t look like getting close Only my second visit this season but I’m in no rush to hurry back ….. the track was awful if you made the gate that was it ….. Musielek busted a gut in the later heats but no dirt to go around and nothing on the inside…. our track has never been good … but this was awful I’m sure the man on the mic is a nice guy but monotone presentation is not the way forward … he tried a witches war cry that was so flat ….. Kevin Long is an impossible act to follow but this guy is miles off it Im not bothered we lost I like Leicester and the manager is by some way the best in the league but I’m not paying £25 plus £30 in fuel to be bored each week On another note hope Nick Morris is ok he was being violently sick throughout the meeting before being withdrawn … no fast one being pulled there I can assure you
  21. Woffinden is injured that’s why his Swedish team gave him the boot and replaced him. Heard from someone there tonight that Jack Holder was there and still had air boot on his foot alongside his arm injury. Also that Garrity has a post match spin watched by a lot of the Sheffield team and the Bates’, make of that what you want are they wanting to bring him in for Etheridge
  22. Had my first visit to Northampton this evening and was pleasantly surprised. Track seems to be improving with lines and passing compared to what I had heard. Decent enough facilities aswell. As for the home riders, it was nice to see Zager and Batchelor get their acts together as the meeting went on, unlike the skipper who frustrated after winning his first. Nice bump coming out of turn 4 looks like it’ll provide some home advantage!
  23. I was at that one, I was close to self combusting. It’s just like no one cares, it’s kind of arrogant.
  24. Not many people to be honest, lowest crowd I’ve seen for a while. Saw Chris Louis in the balcony of the VIP on the way out, wonder what he thinks watching this season! I mean he partly created this weak team if we are being totally honest.
  25. Crowd looked a bit sparse... Or, were they mainly on the back straight?
