Being here today I can’t help but think SGP miss out on merchandise, every rider and the GP itself should have massive merchandise stands and also the food and drink (except beer) needs looking at, they need to employ an events manager that looks after what happens outside the stadium on GP days, there are 1000s here today with money to burn and nothing to spend it on, there is one man in the car park with a table selling merch from the back of his car making more on merchandise sales than the SGP itself

Two nights at the GP's cost me well over £300 for two tickets and that kind of outlay (and more for others to sit down), definitely, once again, meant that domestic meeting attendances before, and after, got hit, and quite severely... Maybe not having a GP next season will help the Aces attendance wise?... I will be very surprised if they run on the 12th of June given Oasis are in town, a mile away, and there is hardly a "very expensive" room available now, already, in Manchester for that evening... And one GP wouldn't justify the six figure outlay for the extra seating that needs putting in to take the capacity up to "profit levels"... Maybe Glasgow would fancy it?...

Bit of a concerning showing there from Bewley. Obviously put in a great few laps riding solo, but like the GP a few weeks ago, looked very tentative in an actual race and dropped off alarmingly as the race wore on. Doesn’t look ready to me and showing all the signs of coming back too soon but let’s see what tonight brings. Fingers crossed he rams those words back down my throat.

No wonder Aces fans are mad about losing the Manchester GP. Ipswich have had a shocker of a season but they've still managed to come out of it better off than Belle Vue lol.

If they want sprint races to determine the order riders pick their race number then that's fine.....but not the 4 3 2 1 points added.

Our friend @ouch has to be odds on favourite, with our even older friend @AceBelle rising like a phoenix from the ashes at evens. Long shots, @mikebv and @PhilTheAce, they’re far too chilled to be the “Ordinary Man” for my money 😁 Edit: Forgot @Rob B! Dark horse for sure!

Is that not 2 GP's in a row that the second fastest rider has went out in qualifying 1 as they were against the fastest rider? Seems a bit silly.

A couple of things I think are worth mentioning after speaking to my mate this morning. For context, I took a friend along last night for his first ever experience of speedway. I’ve already joked about his thoughts on the poor choice of music, so won’t include that. The wait between heats 14 and 15 was around 25 minutes. Granted, they had the kids race and the Ben Fund collection, but he’s new to the sport and had been made aware the meeting was over as a context, so that’s quite a long time to wait for a race that lasts less than a minute. I think that needs better organised. Didn’t see a rider FWIW. Had a tenner in hand, but no rider came around the back straight. The woman next to me said the same thing. We saw Stuart Coleman (not a wider, but carrying a bucket nonetheless) pass a couple of rows ahead but no rider. Bizarre. Last thing - he was having a laugh about me having to fill out a programme because I don’t when we go to the football. So, twice, I let him fill out the programme and twice, the announcer made mistakes with who finished second and third. I’ve actually mentioned this before on here. It’s basic stuff. Time will tell if he’ll be back, but all in all, he said it was a good night. No doubt he found parts of it amateur though. Like the music, the hanging around, messing up the times, etc.
