  1. Past hour
  2. It made no point of persevering with Zischke last year and not using him on a 3.00 average this year, because I'm sure another team would have at some point.
  3. How do we know they have no interest if we never ask them? ( given that British Speedway doesn't promote its self to any parts of it's local communities)
  4. One of the biggest (non self inflicted), reasons for the demise of the sport for me.... As an example, I ran a supermarket in Bradford with over 30,000 customers, with an 80% "Asian" customer base.. Many major cities and towns have changed demographically, hugely, since the halcyon days of the 60's... And also became filled with commercial and apartment buildings, rather than the replaced traditional terraced residential properties which used to hold "working class" families, who made up a huge portion of the fanbase for many tracks...
  5. Today
  6. Welcome back tate. Big learning curve last year. Needs to use that experience. Perfect points left for kurtz
  7. Tate Zischke announced for Belle Vue.
  8. Viv Muddle will be 16 in February but does he qualify to come in on a 2point average through parentage? . There was a competitor in the Aussie Champs who Dick Barrie mentioned had parentage, not 100% sure but think it was Ben Whalley who I believe is from New Zealand, unfortunately he didn't impress. I thought Max Perry had lots of potential in 2023 when riding for Leicester Lion Cubs but he hasn't really kicked on so far. I did think our final two may have been Danyon Hume and Max but turns out I was way off 😃.
  9. Looks like Cordell Rogerson ? has he got UK parentage rights ?
  10. You cant bring the bends in at Northampton, physically impossible
  11. Yesterday
  12. plenty of diversity in the places mentioned that have no interest in speedway
  13. I saw both the Roccios Ernie and Johnny plus fellow American Nick Nicoliades (spelling?) racing for Wimbledon in a challenge match at Bristol on 23/3/1951 when each team tracked 10 riders. This match replaced a Festival Of Britain Trophy match against the same team the series of which was cancelled at a late hour in a dispute over financial terms.
  14. I think I, and countless others, can ultimately see it ending....
  15. I spoke to someone last week, not directly connected to Ipswich, but who knows what's going on with the takeover. He hinted it's 99.99% done, but the new people are very professional and won't say anything until they're ready to make an announcement. He seemed to suggest it's a good owner for Ipswich, and good for the sport. (Wouldn't tell me who the new owners are - but my money is on Mayfield). The fence problem was that it's not an airfence, it's a foam fence, and the foam fence people went into administration. But it seems they're starting up business again and can supply the fence . Why would they be the same? They're a very different size and shape, just like all tracks are different sizes and shapes. From what I've briefly seen of Northampton, it looks to have quite long straights, so I don't know if they'll bring the bends in to make the Speedway track shorter and wider, rather than run fully on the stockcar track. I'm no track curating expert. Edit: Just checked. Northampton claims to be 396m, which is very long, so I would imagine one or both bends will come in for Speedway
  16. And we don’t need more fixtures because I’ve filled my calendar with stock car meetings which would have been staged at Bradford. Sorry I mean because the second time teams came our crowds were down. which had nothing to do with us being bottom of the league
  17. Watch the 360° Podcast with Rob Godfrey.

  19. Your big rival today, is your best team mate tomorrow... Then your big rival again the day after... Before becoming your best team mate again the day after that. And then once more being your big rival etc etc etc
  20. Don't Scunny and Lynn have sections of foam fence? Where would that leave them?
  21. And a great character to have in the sport as well as being a hard rider. No one like him today unfortunately. For protagonists and hard riders who could get a crowd going him an others were what made it tribal but fun. Yes those were the days for a different type of speedway entertainment with promoters who were also quite animated and outspoken. Today’s promoters are the woke of the sport and it is all the poorer for it.
  22. Like Triggers brush... He used exactly the same one for 20 years.. Except for the 14 replacement handles and 17 replacement heads..
