So you think it’s funny do you, parents spending £1000/s of pounds from when there kids are 8/9 years of age to maybe make a good fist of it around the age of 15, and a slim chance of getting a team spot, then after maybe 6/7/8 years of those parents losing money travelling everywhere to say a NJL fixture and the club says sorry curfew is happened or something else not tonight guys, and you still stick at it and then you get overlooked by clubs who bring in riders who just fancy coming over here and trying their luck and who as you say will turn up?(bit difficult not when you are 12,000 miles from home) ahead of you it’s no surprise when the cupboard is increasingly empty. I’m telling you that not one parent of the youth section believes that they are entitled to anything, what they want is a fair crack at it for the countless hours they have done keeping their kids racing when the easiest thing was to pack up, and without doubt attitudes like yours more parents will gradually do the latter.

It's looking more positive that this could actually happen and speedway/ stocks return to brandon , well done to all involved that have kept the faith.
-
And these riders, in the PL, literally don't put a single bum on a seat, they just make the numbers up, which is no bad thing, but there's a long queue of riders behind them that would happily take their place... the tail is well and truly wagging the dog.

With all due respect, whoever buys the club should be seeing it as a business venture with a view to making (hopefully not losing) money. Nostalgia does not unfortunately feature highly in the business world…….Unless of course the buyers are seeking to satisfy an ego like most club owners. In which case, it cannot be considered a business venture.

Cya later Charley. Basically hes saying I love doubling up because Im making plenty of money . Such an inspiring thing to say. Imagine being a young rider reading that statement.
-
The one thing they have going for them is that Ippo and probably Poole are the two best supported clubs in the UK so the fanbase is there to start with, so long as someone doesn't go crazy on the budget and the team isn't dire you should stand a chance of hopefully making a small profit.

Has Simon lambert been announced yet?
-
Should make the play offs at least.
-
Better call Harry sharpish maybe he can get Sam Fox in for opening night and see if Skybet can come up with a seven figure deal for the league.

Brady will be at Belle Vue
-
It's a stir the pot theory. It wouldn't cause havoc across the League as it only means that Belle Vue will have to use Lidsey instead of Kurtz. Higher Ups have to do everything to make Northampton as competitive as possible after the money it's cost to get them up and running. No logic in leaving them looking like the 2025 Oxford Spires as Northampton will need a big name rider to entice fans to turn up. One has Brady Kurtz and the other has Tai Woffinden and all 6 Clubs have One Rider on a 8.00 GSA.

Can't fault Lambo for loyalty to the league and effort but your right with the greatest respect its not like hearing the new owners had managed to get Beau Bailey in at six.

Mayfield Sports or whoever it is who rests control of Ipswich should look at the rich heritage and understand what the club means to the county and the East of England. It is not a commodity and has an intrinsic value built up over the years by a lot of local riders who the supporters can relate to and the likes of sadly the great Billy Sanders and from a continuity perspective the Louis family. Whoever you are you are not buying something like a second hand car and if it does not work you dump it, you are acquiring something special I hope whoever it is you do the right thing and respect what the Witches who mean so many local folk.

Where has the one rider over 8 points come from? It can’t be introduced at this stage of a (admittedly ridiculous) pre-season. Now if there was a sudden ‘one ginger’ per team rule introduced, that would be more in line with British speedway credibility and explain why Kurtz hasn’t been named by the Aces.

Quite funny that you believe doing a few youth meetings entitles you to anything let alone a NDL Team Spot. At least those 7 will turn up, most of the self entitled only want Teams to race on days that suit them, and they moan when their overlooked. Can't do Mondays, can't do Tuesdays, can't do Wednesdays, can't do Thursdays, cant do Fridays as got a Job or Dads working, it's laughable - if you wanted it you'd prioritise it till you earn it and not just because you did a few youth meetings then moan because someone comes around the world to do when you won't.

4 not 5, but the club does struggle to get brits to travel up to us here at Edinburgh that are of a standard which is good enough. Hence having to go down a different route. We do have the Monarchs speedway academy which has plenty of youngsters in attendance, just not old enough as of yet to compete apart from one who turns 15 this month but is too soon for him ride NDL. Give it a couple more years and hopefully we’ll have 2/3 Scots in that line up.

100% 👍🏻 Let's hope it's the former, time will tell, until then I'll curb my enthusiasm 😐

What will 2026 UK speedway bring?
Phannan replied to Lionsman66's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
If rumours are to be believed, Northamptons 3 heat leaders are going to be as follows. Epstein , Mountbatten Windsor and the Russian tart . As good a threesome as you’ll find anywhere … -

At this late stage Speedway has nothing to lose. They come in do well give the sport a future. They fail & go bust in a couple of years we’ll the way the sport sits today it can’t much more that 2 or 3 years left in it’s current pro semi pro guise anyway. -
What about Northampton?
