Scunthorpe V Workington 1/8/25 7:30

People werent happy with me when I said our few good meetings could've just been a positive blip. Today's result shows we are not good enough. If we lose tomorrow, and then go to Glasgow on Friday and lose, we will have four losses on the bounce. -
Etheridge injured and withdrawn at Scunthorpe tonight โฆ. Nick Morris struggling as wellโฆ. Still donโt understand these changes

good luck to all concerned let's hope it comes to fruition ๐๐ค

Just to add something to the 'debate', a start marshall remains on the track when the ref starts each race as he walks away from the start line but still on the track. In fact when the start marshall has to use a pole/bollard on the line to stop the tapes from billowing, he has to return to the startline to remove the pole while the first lap of the race is in progress. Also aren't start marshalls, like refs, SCB accredited?

Blown the 26 point aggregate lead after 8 heats, what a disaster! -
There are plenty of fans and contributors to this forum that would like nothing more than for Swindon Speedway to return, myself included, but like you and many others that have been around this whole sorry saga from the start, know deep down that it is unlikely to ever happen, and as Swindon Council have always complied fully with Osborne, then have no doubt that the Abbey is sadly history once the formalities have been completed. One thing for sure the next few months are going to be very interesting following the the process.

Extraleague Sunday 3rd August
Bavarian replied to racers and royals's topic in International World of Speedway
That was a rather emotionless meeting at Czestochowa, in fact quite boring, in what used to be one of the hot spots of the Ekstraliga. The Ekstraliga this season fails to excite me, and I notice that crowds in the Polish stadia are significantly down this year. I've said it before and I say it again, the total dominance of Motor Lublin, and to a lesser extend Torun and Wroclaw, is doing the league no good. -

Yes there are minimum LUX levels of light that Sky/TNT have specified and in fact that is why Leicester upgraded to new LED lights a couple of seasons ago and then repositioned some last winter . Speedway wise all referees have to put on report about track lighting along with air fence state and white line. Problem being is lighting is so expensive now with I believe quotes of 20k to just fill in gaps

My prediction is that if and when the new stadium is given the green light from the council Osbourne will the apply to demolish the abbey for housing. once he has achieved this he will drop the new stadium and it will never be built. Just like Reading. I really hope Iโm wrong
