That's a big call, and leaning more toward speculative than likely fact. Zmarzlik and Laguta both ride 2 leagues, Poland and Sweden. This season stats BZ is #1 both leagues with Poland 2.55 & Sweden 2.76 Heat average. Laguta is #4 both leagues with 2.38 Poland and 2.34 Sweden. I agree with your basic sentiment however, that Laguta should be in the Regular 15, as should Saifutdinov, and am very clear that politics has no place whatsoever in sport.

That might be a fair consideration. Freddie I would, like many, have expected to get a Wild Card before his return but post return and overall league stats this season generally below GP standard. His performance in the Torun GP may well have influence on his WC possibilities. Given how thin on the ground WC's are going to be this year that 3rd one is crucial, and if the final matrix is anywhere near as close as now it would be a tough call to deny an option to a rider who was within a point or two of top 7 cutoff after 10 rounds. 8th position getting a WC would be a much fairer result than as others have suggested, Jan Kvech. He's not quite ready yet but very likely will be within a couple of years. Maybe we get a dual qualifier in the SEC to free up a 4th wildcard.

Have to say I'm not bothered by a bit of dust, providing I can see the action I'm a happy bunny, shale in the face is all part of my idea of watching speedway.

The track wasn’t great for the juniors either I believe, I heard Seth Norman had a big off due to track conditions, I think they put more shale on after the juniors but then due to the moisture it became too grippy, so they bladed it right back which then exposed the holes in the surface,

Absolutely mate, they need to learn to work together, I believe dean has been impressed with the speedway this season, and it’s all thanks to him that we even have a speedway team at Northampton, and to be honest there has been speedway after stock cars throughout the summer, I just think the rain didn’t help matters

Last heat decider and the tractor would suddenly appear!!😆 I remember one televised meeting with the tractor going over the starting gates in circles ready for the next race, and their opponents team manager going mental!!!😁

To be fair to the stock cars, there wouldn't even be a speedway track without them. 😉 What you have to bear in mind is that the 3 day meeting was planned before speedway was even confirmed for this season, and was a major championship meeting for 2 different formulas with many competitors from overseas. It couldn't just be rearranged to accommodate a speedway event a few days later. The stock car promoter worked very hard on the track over the weekend. After the Saturday event finished at around 7.30pm he was working on the track until the early hours of Sunday morning. The rain on Sunday certainly didn't help matters. Funnily enough, several people commented to me over the weekend about the 'speedway dip' on the home straight, so the damage works both ways.

Northampton will 100 percent be back next season and for seasons beyond, if anything then Sheffield are least likely to return next year. as for the track. The Damage from 3 days worth of stock cars and wet weather made it a massive task for the speedway staff to get the track suitable. The stock car track staff are supposed to relay the surface after their racing I believe, and they didn’t do a very good job of it, rather than fill all the holes and pack it they just covered the holes with shale and left it, unfortunately that’s just the way it goes sometimes. Northampton have done well to get this far without having to call off a meeting due to the track !

Does it matter given they are the best available and Joe Public ha not got a clue as to the standard and hierarchy in the sport in the UK. Speedway in the UK does not and cannot compete with any other league in Europe but those viewers who tuned in and looked at the event found something different but they have not got a clue as to who the riders were and at this stage it is all about attracting punters. You could have conference league riders but it is all about four riders on bikes with no brakes going head to head on powerful machines that would scare the sh.t. From the average bike rider. if packaged in the right format viewers will follow. Trouble is the presentation needs honing to sell it as a great form of entertainment and not chase the idea that it should be shown live as spectacle. Live televised meetings are the achilles heal of speedway and no sensible promoter would suggest that the live meeting are the answer. Any punter who attends a live meeting recognises that t v transmissions are a disaster and the armchair audience simply accept what is served up which compared to the Polish t v offering is in the UK rubbish

That's a joke, right? Rye House was an absolute Sahara, with billowing dust, on every Sunday I visited it over forty seasons. Not that I won't back every effort by the die-hards to get it back for speedway.

Agreed. I am a speedway fan first, Kings Lynn fan 2nd. I will watch speedway anywhere - but clearly, I need to set aside any feelings I have about it being an old fashioned team sport. 'cos it really isn't and never was.

Any streaming service can only show what’s in front of them though,so moaning is about Speedway in General.Hope the Club streams at 3 times the price are better.!!!

Slick does not mean it has to be bone dry, Arena Essex was always slick, sometimes one of the slickest tracks around but you seldom saw dust billowing up all over the place. that's not to say it never happened on a Good Friday afternoon though. Rye House always raced Sunday afternoons, I cant recall coming away from there covered in dust many times if ever. People want to enjoy their evening and hopefully see their team win, no one seriously wants to get covered in or get all that muck in their lungs and those on the outside are not going to go to speedway if the narrative is they are going to get covered in dust. And although this is a Poole thread its not just them, Oxford is probably far and away the worst, a few other tracks are up there too, and there is only three of four tracks where i would be confident you will 1. not see any dust and 2. likely to have an entertaining meeting. Which is why after this season i will be giving up BSN because they can only show whats in front of them, and all too often its rubbish.
