Brilliant, thanks for doing this, very helpful. Much appreciated -
You were saying batch was "departing" on Wednesday. Make your mind up or stop pretending you know rubbish.

What will 2026 UK speedway bring?

There is enough riders but the quality might not be as good, there is also plenty of foreign riders willing to come but intern that might push costs up because they know theyâre in demand -
Batch signing No3 đȘ
-
Definitely arenât.

it basically said as much in the speedway star, but what is he expecting to happen? a team being forced to run in the premiership to make it up to 6? which is still a stupidly low number for a top league.

What will 2026 UK speedway bring?
Ajr replied to Lionsman66's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
No Dean all I'm saying is how could you run one league without rider availability? I agree with the above and enjoying your views on 360 speedway. It was inevitable that once a tv deal couldn't be sorted Premiership clubs would be struggling to meet rider demands. If half the TV money had gone into promotion and funding track developments the sport wouldn't be in the position it is now. -
-
Not a great position to be in with your business though... If I were BSN, I'd be looking to edge into trying to get Polish Speedway tv rights as there doesn't seem to be a future for a "British" Speedway Network.
-
Itâs because they are not sure what they are selling yet, I suppose they could just do a one size pass for x amount of meetings irrespective of how many leagues there are

The sport owes nobody a living, youâre basically asking who is more important, the fans/sport or the riders ? Itâs a situation nobody wants but itâs where we are we have one cake and we can only give anybody a share of whatâs there, when itâs gone it gone, riders up till this point have been spoilt, getting paid and earning a living for doing what they love and the money has run out, so what gives ? -
Is BSN still a thing? Season passes were on sale around this time last year and people were able to buy them as Christmas gifts đ

I think the Speedway Star has actually improved its output in the past 12 months or so... Given the internet makes many stories "old news" for a once a week magazine, they have increased features and interviews with not just riders and promoters but others within the sport... It also often brings detail to what gets said on here, eg a rider riding for a certain team, they will have the reasons behind the move. . Well worth ÂŁ3.60 a week for a hard copy. .

Really can't see how this is going to be resolved. If it goes all one league where are the current Premiership going to find riders to team build,35 team places to fill. Doubling up would not be an option, the top Championship riders have allegedly signed up for next season, who barring foreign riders would the Premiership sign? Without doubling up will the sport be financially viable for a lot of riders? Will riders be poached by Premiership clubs offering better deals than the one they've signed up for? Majority of top Premiership riders have signed to ride in the Danish and Swedish leagues in 2026, possibly ruling out running in Premiership. As a supporter 5 teams in Premiership not enough, the thought of seeing the same team visiting 4 times a year or more if they continue with IMO the play offs would really not appeal. With rain offs you could potentially end up watching the same team possibly 3 times in a month. Would like the play offs to be scrapped in both leagues, don't reward the effort put in during the season. -
Louis âreasonablyâ confident Witches will come to tapes in 26. Two interested parties heâs currently in discussions with. Couldnât elaborate on the full reasons why heâs stepping away but pretty much gave it away actually. Looks like a 5 team league that he has no interest in. Edit: they werenât exactly his words that he wasnât interested in a 5 team league btw, but that was pretty obvious to me anyway that that was a strong factor along with the dire way things are run here. Hopefully someone more clever than me can upload his radio piece from a website somewhere. Badge is usually good with that stuff. Was around 9.50 on Gen X radio Suffolk.

Not sure I agree that Friday is the preferred sports watching night in Glasgow. Football is the biggest sport and hardly ever played on a Friday in Glasgow that I am aware of.
-
With a dwindling and ageing supporter base, what does the Speedway Star offer to entice the younger generation to purchase it? The same goes basically to most speedway teams, what do they offer to entice the next generation of fans?
-
Good for you.Who cares if you donât want to purchase it.

Royal Mail do make it difficult to make a complaint but freepost via customer services gets a pretty quick reply, but itâs clear that the problem is sorting offices who are clearly holding post back and just sending it out on certain days. My local postman is very helpful and says if it comes out for delivery to them it all gets done that day, which just supports the view that some of it just gets held back, we get very little post Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, Thursdays we get loads and then itâs back to very little if anything Fridays and Saturdays. My star generally arrives on Thursdays but occasionally itâs later and I have even had it Mondays, which again from where itâs printed and posted (20 miles away) isnât terribly brilliant on a first class postage. Like a lot of others I have considered the internet version but I do prefer a hard copy and the difference in price isnât much help, editorial tell me itâs expensive for the internet version as well.

Ah thatâs better one quote I wanteD to quote. Think most on here put their own cash in the promoters piggy bank every week during the seasonâŠâŠ.or more recently whenever they choose to consider to run a meeting âŠ..
