Ipswich Witches 2027
cowboy cookie returns? replied to Aries's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Mayfield could do worse than try & bring Emil back. Failing that Musielak & Brennan from this year plus a return for Rew & 4 new Mayfield signings. Woryna seems to be the name in the frame so him plus one youngster with Wroclaw connections leaves 2 reserves to find. In the past I have given King some stick especially in 2024 however this year he has been fantastic. I do think his average will rule him out of Ipswichs plans next year. -
Indeed. We're already toiling for a guest for Hausl on Friday at Scunthorpe. Am presuming he'll not be back. Anyone know.

Too many Clubs have race day's / night's on FRI/SAT in the CHAMP which makes the decision an easy one tbh.

That's kind of my point. It's possible some rider's can earn more riding in the Championship over the Premiership. If they still get a gig in Poland it's not guaranteed rider's will pick the Premiership as TTT seems to think.

Was it not clear what was going to be included in Premiership deal,it was it the Championship package.? still good value if you are desperate to watch though.

Ipswich vs Sheffield Monday 7th September

Do you think some riders in this league are potentially not as bothered about a poor night as they would be if they did not have the fall back of racing in the Championship? -
Perhaps he should have stayed at Berwick,he seemed to be able to ride the track and it had a lot more Home advantage that Ashfield. Very inconsistent though.

Best meeting of the season by far with plenty of passing. Lawson and Pickering had a real ding dong battle in Heat 13 which Lawson just couldn't make stick. Killeen look fast (which was a more than I can about our rising star who looks to have no confidence at Foxhall) if a little unsteady at times and done well to remount after his fall. The racing did not seem rushed but still finished at a decent time. Love watching Tobi hang of the bike and was flying again. I feared the worst in heat 14 but Tom and Kevin done good. Lovely touch by the Sheffield riders to go and thank their fans for their support. And a nice touch by the promotion to give season ticket holders a free programme albeit 3 weeks old. - Today

Even when they are not picked they are expected to attend the meeting in Poland Dan has missed Championship meetings to be in Poland and not get a ride...

Your assuming the ‘better’ riders in the Championship actually ride for points money these days as I’m led to believe , despite the chairman’s claims that guarantee’s are banned, that more ‘top’ riders are on them now than last year. From the riders I assist they tell me most heat leaders in the championship are on some form of guarantee, wether that be fully or partially and our imports have to be due to the stipulation on their visas. Don't most of our championship riders ride in the Polish 2nd tier? So does the rule affect them ? Ill believe a TV deal when I see it .

Would've matter if he continued to score zero as we couldn't make any changes and as his average is low then, even if he quit , there is very little options for a guest, therefore it was better to see if he could get out of the slump he was in. Hopefully he has now turned a corner.

Triple.H. You must be quite happy for a Tigers riders to go 19 rides without scoring These comments are MY OPINIONS,yours are different, thats why we have a Speedway Forum. He did well to score 8 points,he has to continue that kind of scoring. We will see what happens next meeting.

Just watched this back, good to see Lawson looking happy in the pits and seemingly getting on very well with general manager Andrew Chisholm. IF there was any issue there, certainly looks like it’s been resolved. Was on the parade truck also. -
Must admit, I was thinking the same thing. Who exactly is being petitioned here? There's no government department blocking a return of the sport. There's no council who needs to be pushed to grant additional planning permission. All that is needed is a promoter to come along and pay the rent money to Spedeworth, and away we go. OK it may not be easy to find rich promoter willing to put up the rent money and operational costs, but we're certaiinly not going to be able to petition the government to pay the rent for us!

Didn’t Coleman himself say Wroclaw would have an influence and would have an input on the Ipswich team building next year? The Wroclaw fella is also now a director at Ipswich. He also said about multi contracts across the two clubs so you’d think there’s almost certain to be at least one rider who rides for both clubs. Someone like Mikkel Andersen maybe?
-
That's just Dan T. Absolutely no chance Lawson, Pickering, Masters etc are riding on Rising Star money in the Championship.

I’d be VERY surprised if Bewley ended up at Ipswich next year. Things could change of course, but as it stands that one is highly unlikely.
