I suspect it is a purely commercial decision. I have great respect for Tai and how he keeps coming back from serious injury, but from a sporting perspective he has declined and there are others who have a stronger case. However, I think attendances at SGP and SON, and the inability to make Cardiff viable , suggests speedway needs to attract a whole new cohort of supporters, and those with more disposable income. I think it may also be a first step in repositioning speedway as an extreme sport not a family sport. Maybe the view is that Tai, with his music following and edgy approach helps with that. -

This is a good competitive line-up, most probably the strongest ever. Sure, Tai's inclusion is a surprise beyond surprise, but (if fit) he will be competitive and will most probably finish higher than 16th (current ranking) at the end of the campaign. -
Sadly, I think a lot of what you're missing is nostalgia, not that there's anything wrong with that. Modern day speedway is clearly thriving domestically in Poland, and isn't exactly dead in Sweden, so why is GB struggling? I think you could bring back Wembley, uprights, 4TT and whatever else, but it's too late. It's been like death by a thousand paper cuts following British speedway in the last 25 years. I think where we do agree is that it's probably too far gone now. Sad.

Would like to have seen Parnitskyi in the lineup as I definitely think he would have added something new and raw and also be unfazed by the opposition. The powers that be obviously rate him by naming him reserve . He’ll get his chance as there’ll definitely be injuries . Difference is he won’t get a run at it and grow into it , just the odd opportunity. As for Tai . Shocked with that though it definitely adds interest. -

Well at least that's the after meeting disco sorted. -
Very much like Lynn, but that is mainly due to the high clay content material which just doesnt suit modern speedway bikes. That said it very, very rarely has bumps and holes. Perhaps a poor track gives Poole greater home advantage and home wins mean more bums on seats. Wouldn't be the first club to do that.

Monster's influence and the publicity they hope it generates must be the reason for Tai's involvement. Even allowing for his injuries, we saw nothing in 2024 to warrant his place in the GP again -

Wasn't solely the atmosphere at all though. As I said, the production/running of the event for fans at the stadium was very poor. Forgot to mention GB - Bewley didn't ride like I expected him to but Lambert was ok and Brennan gave it a go. -

Oh absolutely, it's a publicity thing at the end of the day. Strange from a sporting perspective at least, alas... -
A bit like the AFA. I have been many brilliant meetings at both tracks. The world cup meeting at Poole was amazing. is it the material used or track prep or quality of rider I dont know. Bomber Harris may know as he has had some very poor meetings at Kings Lynn this year and at Poole. It was only 2018 which is not long ago that he pulled off an amazing last lap pass on Jason Doyle to get us to the final that year, he couldnt do that now.

Is it that strange though when you see how SGP works, money, money, money and Monster is the sponsor, who sponsors Tai? Oh yeah! Who got most social media and news media clicks from a crash that went beyond speedway, and they probably think they can create a ‘comeback story’ from it! I think it’s a farce personally but then I’ve thought that for a few years! -

Woffinden is lucky here I think, given his performance the last series he was in. Doyle has not had many wildcards previously and did show he can make the finals of GPs even though he was badly injured this season. Fricke is always going to be around the 'not just made the top 6/7/8' I think. The format and any qualification changes may bring some interest otherwise I think there'll be little drama on show.
