  1. Past hour
  2. From the Edinburgh website: "Yet another change has been forced upon the Monarchs for our final Scottish Cup meeting on Friday as Michael Palm Toft, after riding well in Scunthorpe's brave Playoff Final performance, suffered an injury following the Superheat" Elsewhere on the same website: "....replacing the previously announced Michael Palm Toft, who was involved in a post-race incident after Scunthorpe's contentious Super Heat loss in the Championship play-off final at Poole last night" Anyone know what happened to MPT?
  3. To be honest as a Glasgow fan I don't have a dog in the race. Yes maybe he was over the line but from every replay the ref saw last night there is no way he could say 100 percent.......so he can't exclude him.
  4. Today
  5. Disagree. Winning the title at home is extra special and the team that finishes top deserve that opportunity. Most fans are travelling local, so a re-schedule is not a huge problem.
  6. I don't think they should've changed the Belle Vue date, by all means give them priority of the second leg at home, but not a guarantee that allows them to postpone a match to get it. Fans could have made plans & this just messes them about. Luckily it's a local derby, so shouldn't cause too much hassle. Almost sounds like your dealing with toddlers.
  7. Is it actually official that Kyle has retired? Or did he just take a break?
  8. Some of these riders mentioned may have a hard decision to make if Poland insist the polish league and 1 other league rule is in place, take Zac, rides in Poland belle Vue and Poole, one of these will have to go, other riders like masters and Thompson etc will be in the same boat
  9. 1. Poole fans love Bomber despite him riding for Glasgow. He has best reception on parade for an away rider. 2. He has already been a Poole rider in 2018. So he has already agreed to ride it on a weekly basis before! 3. Maybe if Poole signed him they would prep the track for him, so win-win. 🙃😉
  10. Last year it was after (allowing Workington to sign Craig Cook on 7.99). Currently 10 riders would be above 8 for next year, including Kyle Howarth. 8.00 was chosen last year as that was the top 9 riders being spread across 9 teams. So it could work that way again this year (I've not heard anything either way). Would only mean Poole losing someone (as Klindt is currently unattached). Berwick and Plymouth had no one finish over 8 (after a 2.5% reduction in Scott Nicholls average) Kye Thomson, Leon Flint, Sam Masters, Zack Cook, Richard Lawson, Charles Wright, Nikolai Klindt, Josh Pickering and Jonas Jeppesen. Plus the now retired Kyle Howarth Any brit between 8.00 and 8.20 would go below 8 after a 2.5% reduction (Scott Nicholls and Bomber)
  11. Gillman does not have much comfort to offer. This does not get me excited at all. Why didn't they go for the grand ole Wayville Showground Speedway right in the center of Adelaide? That would have been a truely awesome venue for a SGP there! Wayville has since been re-named as the Adelaide Showground. The main arena at the Adelaide Showground opened in 1925 and once had a capacity of 35,000, but can now cater for around 14,000 spectators. It features a main grandstand, smaller undercover and open grandstands, terracing and grass hill, while lighting allows for night events. The Adelaide Showground continues to host the annual Royal Adelaide Show. Often referred to as the birthplace of Australian speedway, the venue originally known as the Wayville Showground hosted regular meetings until 1934, attracting large crowds. It again various speedway meetings between 1986 and 2002. It was the home of harness racing in Adelaide from 1934 until 1973, when all meetings moved to the purpose-built Globe Derby Park which had opened in 1969. Crowds in excess of 20,000 were common, with the record attendance of 47,000 achieved for the 1963 Inter Dominion. In 2017, a one-off Friday night harness racing meet was held at Wayville, with around 8,000 fans attending. The venue was also the home of the West Adelaide Football Club in the SANFL from 1927 until 1939, before the club merged with Glenelg during the war years and eventually moved to their current home Richmond Oval when it opened in 1958. 12. Firstly best of luck to Plymouth, really hope they can come to the tapes in 2027 as we can ill afford to lose any more teams, particularly in the South. However I do have a genuine question, why have they waited so long to start and appeal as they appear to be up against it now with only 3-4 weeks to raise the money by the deadline. Have they only just found out they needed to replace the fence? Only asking as if they’d had the whole season to request donations then I’d have been happy to chip in monthly for example.
  13. Baffles me that people keep suggesting every year that Bomber will sign for Poole. The man loves blasting round the fence in the deep dirt, I genuinely think a bit of his soul dies when he turns up to super slick tracks with next to no dirt on them. I reckon Bomber would quit rather than ride on a home track as slick as Wimborne Road every week. Equally spending nearly 8 points signing a rider like Bomber doesn't fit Poole's business model these days. They want better gaters in their team.
  14. So you think it could be bias against Poole, who would have thought that and David Howe's unbiased assessment was that he saw the wheel was over the line during the race.
  15. To be fair, Thursday 15th probably kept free as another home date for Sheffield, in case they need to call it off again on Monday ...
  16. I didnt watch it live, but i haven't seen a single picture yet that shows the wheel was over the line. It was obviously very tight, but not enough for an exclusion.
  17. ...and whether that list is as now or after the 2.5% discount has been applied.
  18. I guess it depends how many over 8 riders there are.
  19. Interesting that your answer to ref potentially not following rules, is SCB to break their own rules lol. They can only null and void the meeting not a race.
  20. Hi all, In years 1975-1980 there was so called Inter-League Cup held. How the teams starting there were determined? Because there were only few from each league, not every single one. Was that prestigous tournament?
  21. Just declare heat 16 null and void and make them joint champions under "unusual circumstances" or something

  23. Zach may be back next. He’s not yet decided whether he will be dropping championship racing. Hopefully the 1 over 8 rule disappears and we have the chance to keep our 1 and 5
