Ipswich vs King’s Lynn Thursday 21st August
Aries replied to ShanoXtra's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
They’ve been experimenting with different track conditions the last month or so, trying to find a track that suits everyone. Thursday was far too slick to be honest and there wasn’t a lot of grip out there. Heat 15 a perfect example. Brennan was clearly quicker than Lawson out front and was throwing everything he could at him, going inside and out but just couldn’t find enough to get past. Brennan is riding himself in to good form at just the right time. Looked quick Thursday. -

And nothing says more Mickey Mouse than a policy that allows teams to plan in meetings knowing riders will be missing and replace them from other teams, rather than running the meetings when the actual team can be there.. The guest system isnt a "necessary evil", as some term it, it is now a fundamental key part of the operating model.... A chance for some riders to earn more money, and a catch all safety net to complete the season, driven by the signing of riders who, knowingly, won't be available to represent the team.. -

Good to see Allen giving it to Wright. Wright gives it out but cannot take it back. Well done Jake. -

Can’t trust the old enemy. eg. James Hook.🤔👍 -
So a NORA licence has been approved and a scheduled meeting planned for 6 September. Hope they get a decent crowd and well done to everyone involved.

Glasgow when they track their full seven, imo are the best team in the CL & if Nagel had been available, they would probably have added to their winning margin, given his guest replacement, Jacob Hook, did not score a point from his four rides. Howarth's scoring from no.5 is impressive, especially when matches go down to the wire & the Harris/Howarth combination usually deliver the coup de grace in heats 13 & 15. For Monarchs a key factor in their recent decline in performance is that Victor Palovaara is still trying to recover from pneumonia which apparently has absolutely done him in. In hindsight it might have been better to have given him more time to fully recover. One positive I took from tonight's match, was MPT's best ride at the Dale since joining us, in heat 14 where he stalked Flint until the last bend & burst through on the inside to take the win.

Glad to see that on the British Speedway Web site that Freddy was awarded 3rd place when he passed Hook on the line. On updates it shows Hook as being third. With poor Max getting injured it was a great performance from the 5 remaining tigers. A shame that guest Jacob Hook failed to score but no2 is a difficult position. Looking forward to tomorrow's meeting at Workington where it will probably be tight like many of our away meetings. Can the Tigers win again?
