YerRopes replied to racers and royals's topic in International World of Speedway
Have been to Wroclaw 3 times and always managed to get seats in the main stand. 2023 was the last time there and non season tickets were released for sale 2 weeks prior to the meeting at the time. Latterly have been to Torun and Rzeszow, the airport at Rzeszow is surrounded by mobile Patriot missiles, which was a bit of an eye opener. -
I think a lot of that has to do with them being slung into the Prem also from the get go I can only remember Rob Lambert and Joe Screen being good enough from the start in the top league, the likes of Havelock, Loram, Dugard, Silver came up through the old second division for a couple of years before moving up. The problem you have is unless you are a top 10% talent which Bob and Joe both are/were you get on a bad run and have confidence smashed where if you can end up a big fish in a smaller pond for a couple of years whilst training up you can then move up with more confidence things will work out. I've never seen Cairns ride but given he pretty much doubled his average in year one that's all anyone can ask of the lad, but I do agree with this next crop of youngsters smashing their confidence early doors is not the way to go.

Not sure riders worry about where their teams are located, Harris rides for Kings Lynn and Glasgow and lives in Rugby.
-
Tricky to tell really, there’s every chance they could be in the final four riders although they might not be
-
Don't think Poole are big payers, Anders Rowe can probably vouch for that, it's more like a well run club, with good sponsors, no your going to get paid on time, and are always there or there abouts , when the trophies are handed out
-
Because Kings Lynn is your team and both tracks had better racing than they do now.
-
Instead of just laughing, why not give constructive feedback? If my teams are so bad show stronger ones, which apparently must be easy otherwise my teams wouldn't be so humourous! What would you do if they couldn't get Cook, Kemp or Vuolas & looked to build strength in depth?
-
He has gone there as he must love a pound note. Poole must be the biggest payers along with Glasgow in that league. Glasgow is too far from Essex every week so Poole was the obvious choice.
-
Ben Fund Bonanza at Glasgow... https://britishspeedway.co.uk/miscellaneous/bonanza-heading-to-glasgow/
-
agreed, not sure why its relevant though?
-
If Cooper thought the Poole track was as bad as the Poole haters think, why would he go there. Not short of offers I’m sure. Best of luck to him looks areal talent.
- Today
-
Surly riding for Poole in the championship is developing them
-
Fair play to Poole for usually managing to attract the exciting prospects. Shame they do the absolute minimum (and that's only when forced to) to help with the development of these youngsters.
-
It will always be a topic, a bit like Kings Lynn track used to be much better than it is now.
-
The end result justifies the means.
-
its been a topic way before that, its been awful for years now.
-
Still no one putting anything up that contradicts my thoughts - just saying! Rather like the "let's just have one big league at Championship level" brigade that can't accept the true standard it will most likely be Only responses are name calling to deflect from the fact that they can't show I'm not right

Once its downloaded, internet's not needed, so if you can manage a download, ur sorted

I think Cooper needs to have some of the weight of expectation lifted off his young shoulders. Too many lads were going to be a superstar the minute they hit 16. Like Joe Haines 20 years ago or more recently Kyle Bickley, Archie Freeman, Ashton Boughen, even Will Cairns. At 15/16 they are still growing, some up the way, some round the way, some both, and body size and shape can be critical. I’m hopeful he’ll do exceptionally well and, certainly for his first year at this level, he’s going to the team with arguably the best manager and the Poole fans will get behind him as they do all the triers.
-
Cant help himself!
-
Agreed if Coops, Cairns and Scott keep level headed and avoid bad injuries all three should have huge futures and should be the core of future England world team cup squads assuming UK speedway hasn't totally collapsed over next 2-3 years.
-
I think this is a good shout. Worky track would suit him. Saturday track logistics may be an issue.
-
I don't think it matters which track(s) he rides on/for, the boy is going to be a superstar.
