  1. Past hour
  2. What a strange takeaway from my post... I'm a paying customer along with thousands of others with £25 burning a hole in my wallet on what used to be one of the busiest days in the speedway calendar and am left with a choice of Poole or Edinburgh... or spend my money on something else. Enjoy your Good Friday meeting, hope it stays dry for you 👍🏻
  3. Well done Glasgow and the riders. An excellent meeting with some great races. Nothing better than watching good riders go at it.
  4. Today
  5. You are well aware and you've been very active. So why question? Why doubt? Why mire in the demise of speedway. Looks like you absolutely love it, cant fix it and never lend a hand but always online to want for more despite giving less. Aye but you bought a season ticket.....yet put down and question everything else. Get yourself involved Ian, change the dynamics of meetings, be more than a worthless typist on the Internet. You won't, you aren't.
  6. Does this Adrian Smith hand out the Iron Maiden tee shirts you referred to in a previous post to the mechanics? All seems to make sense!
  7. Godfrey will be too busy counting the money after the stocks on a bank holiday weekend, worky have the rearranged p+p on good Friday then home meeting against Redcar on Saturday (weather permitting )
  8. He’ll come good just needs more time to learn the tracks
  9. I think, in a team sport, a team suit/kit is essential, as it is in all other team sports. Riders and their personalities are a different matter, when most of them can't even be arsed to come round for a victory lap and a wave at the crowd, a personalised race suit ain't going to save them. Too often the race numbers on the riders' backs aren't visible, especially when the number is fashioned from duct tape! I've, for a few years now, maintained that led lighting should be incorporated onto/into riders bikes for identification purposes, red, blue, white, yellow, cheap and quite effective.
  10. As you're on the good old Interwebnet thing to be able to post on here, why not contact the club via email or a message on their social media channels.
  11. Tate was Interviewed on BSN after the spill involving Kyle Howarth. He said he had changed bikes in that heat which was his 4th ride because his first bike was apparently too powerful and not driving forward off the line. Something certainly wasn't right because his starts were woeful. He got away much better in his 4th ride and was unlucky to be excluded when Kyle Howarth appeared to almost perform a right angle turn on the first corner to give him nowhere to go when he was a close second. He said he was looking for a better result in his final ride but didn't make a good start and then lost some control of the the bike going wide on turn 2 which appeared to finish his race really. After watching him underperform in the Aussie Champs on BSN I admit to being slightly concerned that we may once again not see the 2024 Tate in 2026. Hopefully we will and that will do his confidence a world of good for sure.
  12. Unfortunately the set up does not give the new people a chance and it is history repeating itself. So many have tried and failed. Those on this forum have an insular view of where the sport is but if you are and outsider and simply look at what the likes of Chat GPT and other internet reviews of the sport offer as an answer frankly no one will touch speedway with a barge pole. I like you really wish it has a future but everything on line says otherwise. As to how it is turned around, is anyone’s guess, but hopefully it can be revived and rise up the ranks of being one to watch.
  13. Poole have streamed their meetings in the past so I'd assume they will continue to do so. Any links are probably on their website and social media channels.
  14. I hope you're not assuming I'm one of them? As for the team, why are the same suits vital? Has it moved the sport forward in the UK? I think that's open very much to debate. Fans need to see the personalities of the riders - this can be achieved in many ways of course - Doyle got my attention with his sliding around the stock car track, Cook with his riding style but mainly attitude and antics outside of the races, John Davis/Havelock/Wigg with their leathers and branding, these are things which draw interest and create taking points, not them all wearing the same suit, I really don't get the point of it, they'll be riding for another team next year. The race jacket was enough. Why do we need helmet colours these days? The suit and number is enough surely. It's all window dressing for a photo but that doesn't bring fans in, engagement does.
  15. Is Good Friday`s meeting going to be online? if so where?
  16. Fromafar

    Motogp

Just been watching World Superbikes and Moto Gp what entertainment superb action.
  17. Think you’re talking about me there in my mechanic days
  18. I’m not knocking the 2 said individuals and their will to improve the product as did the 50 or so forward thinking promoters who went before them, I know there are good people in the sport, my point is they have conflicting jobs in the sport and therefor they can never be objective so shouldn’t have a job on the board of the sport, I know rob godfrey doesn’t understand the word independent but you do
  19. Ok that makes no sense or point at all but hey ho I guess they say you have lost the argument when you attack to person
