Ipswich v Belle Vue POSF Leg 2

Belle Vue will be fired up to hit us early. We need a strong start to eat in to their lead from the get go to take the wind out of their sails. The quicker we overhaul that 6 point deficit and build a bit of a lead ourselves, the more relaxed everyone will be. If we start sluggishly like we have at times, and that 6 point deficit becomes 8 and then double figures fairly early on, weāll then all start getting twitchy especially fresh from that poor performance at home last week. You can then start chasing a bit too hard and thatās where mistakes can crop up. Need Emil to do a number on Kurtz in heat 1 and King to beat his opposite number for a heat advantage to set the tone for the evening. Letās hope the rain doesnāt spoil it⦠-

Because our record there with this bunch of riders has been absolutely wretched in recent years. Consistently battered there the last few years until a victory there in the cup (when the track was wet and heavy and a bit of a leveller) and a draw when you were missing a strong home heatleader. The one time we did face you this season when you were at full strength and the track was like it normally is, it was an all too familiar outcome and we lost by 14! Despite spurious claims that we should be disappointed we didnāt win and win easy, everybody connected to Ipswich Speedway including Chris Louis and Ritchie Hawkins, would have snapped your hand off if a six point defeat was offered up before the meeting. -

He seems to be criticised for not passing when not making the gate.... File his name with 90% of all riders then..... Not many riders were passing last night and the racing was pretty rubbish... Stadium two thirds empty, meant zero atmosphere, (I must have missed the local marketing focus over the weekend).. And did Ipswich have a taxi load of fans in attendance? (Get a good few away fans at these events and you may get some atmosphere)... An increase in prices was "genius" too.... The Aces are a four man team at home and a three man team away so no chance in the away leg, with the Aces, even with TS's averaging just 36 at Ipswich.. Let's hope Brady and his "wing man" Dan don't take any undue risks and ensure they are both ready for Saturday... - Today

But if they did have a ābonafide No1ā rather than a 6 point number 1, they wouldnāt then have had a 6 point reserve either. You cant just chuck a top line number 1 on top of the strength in depth strategy they went with. -

How refreshing that the best rider on show last night was a Englishman, absolutely brilliant. Ipswich are in the box seat, will have to be a different Belle Vue team turn up for them to progress. -

Not quite sure what people are getting at here, BV have won 2 of the last 4 titles š plus they are still in the competition for 2025! -

They were only qualifiers and the four who qualified were known from the start, but we were never going to trouble the other three over two legs, i was surprised some Witches fans were actually worried about last night. -

Is that the rider who has increased his GSA by over a point this season? Who scored 7 or more in 13 consecutive matches prior to KL away? Who has the 11th= best away average in the league this year? -

Agree with your points but if we pull this back it will more to do with Ipswich having a choke of massive proportions more than write Belle Vue off at your peril. -
Hang on, I thought 3 guests & R/R was the definition of seven man teams in British League Speedway

I didnt think Ipswich would win but would keep it within 10 at worst, Blodorn and the reserves have been poor all season and with Dan and Brady in heats 13 and 15 we always had a get out of jail card as we saw against Kings Lynn at the NSS who overall were the better side going into heat 15 only two points down. Ipswich didnt ride well last night, Emil was off it King wasnt good, and Thompson didnt do as well as i thought but it was still only a 6 point advantage, for a team who are supposed to have such a large home advantage it wasnt good from our point of view, we were always the weakest of the four in the play offs and we paid the price for not changing things around. Ipswich are just a better all round side as will be underlined on Thursday. Its going to be interesting between Ipswich, Sheffield and Leicester though. -
With 3 guests and R/R it was hardly a Birmingham team, so I'm not sure it's really worth bickering about š¤·āāļø
