This stream auto-updates

  1. Past hour
  2. Thought he didn’t fancy the travel up North, this obviously may have changed since then.
  3. It does, he could replace either Jack Smith or Sam Hagon -- but to make such a change on the strength of one audition could be a risk.......
  4. I agree, Cook is the better rider no doubt, but in Cooks 6 meetings for us he has averaged bang on 4.00. I'd be happy if Kerr could get 6 or more at the AFA tomorrow.
  5. Except when it comes to another club calling and wanting him to sign for them mid-season and asks his then current club (where he was captain) to release him. Yeah, very "selfless".
  6. The recent changes are welcome and an indication that the promotion are at least aiming for a play off spot, but if the team doesn`t deliver on track with wins especially at home, a play off place is a million miles away.
  7. You need to find one of the podcasts with Garry May on from a few weeks ago as he talks about it quite openly. It must be a decent increase as it stops them from getting top riders in as many unavailable on a Saturday which they are willing to sacrifice for a bigger crowd.
  8. Really not had a good meeting recently but seems to like Saddlebow Road.
  9. Have to agree with all the comments about Ben Barker; always gives everything on and off track a proper team man. I also remember seeing him being interviewed on local Tv in his usual enthusiastic manner this time as a water tanker driver, I think, during the pandemic.
  10. Just hope the meeting is on, it’s that pit gate that’s worrying really, as it’s not looking good on the hinges.
  11. Three, with Cooper Rushen who turns 16 in March 2026 I believe.
  12. To late for us now I think even with 2 new signings we really needed 3 points on Saturday night probably Redcar 4th team, glad to be proven wrong though.
  13. Today
  14. To be honest Gazc, I don't know anything other than what you have mentioned. Allied Mobility are included with other sponsors on the Workington Comets Facebook account now.

  16. Out of interest do the Glasgow owners have anymore input or was it just a helping hand and advice with the HMRC issue ?. Looking forward to visiting in August when Glasgow are down.
  17. Only 1 little moan about yesterday,it takes 6 people to show u where to park, but no one to help getting out,was a bit of a free for all ,still good racing just a shame we gave them a yards start.
  18. It was awful years ago, really bad when we staged a gp challenge qualifier but apart from the odd meeting, recent years much better. The hot weather I am sure plays havoc with track prep.
  19. Smith done well at Ashfield on Friday night, to be fair. Hodder and Perry have been fantastic this season. We literally couldn’t ask for more. Two teenagers with that little bit more pressure on their young shoulders due to our team building approach, but they’ve literally given 110% in every single race. They’ve had some tough meetings - inevitably so - but meetings like last night’s shows how resilient they both are.
  20. Some great on point observations there mikebv. Getting more water into the track pre meeting is something we definitely need to be working on doing especially in the absence of rain in the 12 -24 hours before the meeting. The signage which has just gone up this week looks great. This can only help keep Workington Speedway visible and increase conscious awareness that it does actually exist as a credible sporting family option. Continuously putting the supporter experience right at the top of the clubs priorities in all aspects has to be the only way forward. How well the club is doing on this should be gauged periodically through feedback surveys.
  21. Quite the opposite , good win for Redcar better team on the day bad day at the office for Worky we live to race another day onwards and upwards.🙂
