  1. Past hour
  2. A team of second strings and reserves was never going to have a good season. When building a team you need to look for riders who are likely to improve their averages. This was unlikely as Lambert, Allen, Worrell and Mountain's averages have been the same for years. There was always a doubt about Zaine and Declan in first season back and first season respectively. Only Harrison was likely to improve which has proved the case.
  3. Plymouth would be mad to move up and does anyone actually know for certain what will happen with Sheffield, all sorts of things are being said ranging from complete shutdown to Nigel Tolley coming in but dropping down into championship to not risking his own money anymore, it seems as usual that it’s a mess and the fans are yet again left in the dark, something has to change and if it is one league without gp riders then so be it but at least it’s regular meetings and variety instead of stop start season and usual suspects at the top
  4. Says it all when half the riders didn't turn up in the bar after the meeting including Godfrey don't give a dam about the supporters who turn up every week to see the same crap
  5. Looks like Victor and Justin have the same plans 🤔
  6. Looks like Victor and Justin have the same plans 🤔
  7. Surly the Ben fund must have agreed on this statement being put out ? I don't think they are directly linked to each other
  8. Let's just hope it doesn't rain: Hillsborough (South Yorkshire) weather - Met Office
  9. They’re great for next years averages, worky away and last night will knock about 0.5 off for next year. 😉
  10. explains a few things dont it he admits he aint got a clue
  11. its not just scunny speedway prices are not atractive for new comers and even some hardened fans cant justify the cost
  12. I agree and it’s a very different world today than only 10-15 years ago. Data capture and engagement with customers is so much easier and with AI keeping tabs on such data, tailored marketing is the way to go. You’re correct that keeping hold of customers is the hard part and deals are a must to keep them coming back. I’ve asked many times “What is that seat worth to you?” and the response is always £25. My argument is it’s currently worth zero as it’s constantly empty and an empty seat looks and feels bad so fill it in any way possible. We use to block out around 50 seats in F/G section for schools and the Hide Out Youth Zone but take up waned though the offer is always there. I would always have a full looking stadium for TV meetings, by hook or by crook as it adds a fomo factor to those looking in from their armchairs. Clubs need a dedicated marketing person and not treat it as an add on by one of the current staff. The more accomplished they are the better with remuneration being based on results. Over the years it’s always been someone’s mate having a go (I was one such mate back in Perrins era) and the focus is never quite there. Better still would be a British speedway sales team fighting for our portion on the leisure pound.
  13. I would really not want anyone connected to me, racing on a track which has not been passed as safe by the governing body, and who has then gone looking for someone else to disagree and say it's safe. It reminds me of the joke about the passenger on a plane which was delayed for 4 hours. When he asked what was the reason for the delay, they said "The pilot heard a strange noise coming from one of the engines, and it will take us 4 hours to find another pilot who can't hear it".
  14. 2 three letter words cant even get that right ,twit for tat !
  15. Today
  16. Berwick website states BOTH meetings have been postponed
  17. Really hope for their sake they don't they seem to be slowly turning things around at Plymouth why risk increasing your operating costs by 30-40% going back to running on a duff night, plus they are on the edge of England so a lot of riders don't want to travel all the way down there for home meetings. Look how Birmingham have struggled to put a competitive team together and Plymouth haven't got Tolley's deep pockets to bale them out.
  18. As always interesting to see Bet 365’s less, actual, more market. These are their actual( race points) 20 heats only Zmarzlik 12 Kurtz 12 Bewley 10 Lindgren 9 Doyle 9 J Holder 8 Fricke 8 Lambert 8 Thomsen 7 Lebedevs 7 Vaculik 7 Kubera 6 Janowski 5 Michelsen 5 The 2 riders not quoted in their book are Kvech and Huckenbeck and they expect them to score 7 between them.
  19. What a great thing to say when your the man that actually runs the whole sport in this country.
  20. In light of the SCB warning to NORA riders below, who are the SCB to dictate to the SRBF who does and does not get funds!?! When the SRBF are giving out funds to tracks to provide them with the starting gate tower protectors and even paid for Ben Barker's hotel accomodation when his kid was in hospital having treatment to suggest that NORA riders would not be "entitled" to funds or benefits seems to be an overstep of their authority, surely it's down to the SRBF trustees and not the SCB, somebody seems to have ideas above their station and should not be meddling in SRBF affairs, absolutely disgusting! RIDERS NOTICE Competing at events held on non SCB Homologated (licenced) Tracks and / or events for which an SCB Event Permit has not been issued.
