So you expect Hausl to end the season with an average of 0.739? He wouldn’t last a month if that was the case
-
Better incentives to join? a quarantee of a van? a place to stay ovenight?maybe pay more travel money...Poole is a big fish in a small pond, its akin to liverpool dropping to the championship. riders would still want to rider for them, its draw of playing for a successful team,, but you cant say you have unearthed another talent,,some one else has done that
-
Surely not.

What, that he's paid on time?

True to a degree and we do the same, we tried it with a none Poole rider this year but it didn’t work for us sadly so have gone back and sponsored a Poole rider for 2026. We have experienced so many times in the past, we sponsor - give the money and rarely hear anything from the riders until the time comes again when they need fresh sponsorship for the next year. Not all riders, we dealt with some cracking riders one in particular was exceptional. But with money not so freely available, riders should probably learn quick on that, how many are driving around or flying daily, how long does it take to send a simple text once in a while? Don’t need to be wined and dined but a personal message would go a long way. I hear the same with clubs too. Appreciation goes along way and we don’t put money into riders for the business we do it because I love the sport and want to help riders progress in a small way and hope it helps.

Chris and Jack Holder, Tom Brennan, Adam Elliss, Ben Cook, all still sponsored by Wessex Marine
-
Exactly. The whole package is worth much more than a big points deal what is interesting though and has seemed to be the case for 30 years or so is that Poole sponsors are loyal to the team rather than the rider. so when a Poole rider moves on the sponsorship goes and is given instead to a incoming rider. most riders tend to keep sponsors going forward despite changing clubs.

SGB Championship 2026 Confirmed Signings
Nickinho replied to Paddy The Rebel's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Oxford look to have the strongest 1-5 but it's good to see a competitive looking Plymouth team for once. I think 2026 will be an interesting season as all the teams look capable of achieving something. -
Nagel is ten times better than Hausl will ever be.
-
I've got tickets to see Barry in June so I hope he doesn't get on a speedway bike and put his health at risk
-
Ok, I was looking at the rolling averages. Happy Christmas.

You really must be deluded if you think it's nothing to do with the money. Nothing wrong with paying top dollar that's the way it works but don't keep denying it.

Sponsors.

All those riders have a choice where they won't to ride, so why do they choose Poole, it's nothing to do with the track as everyone keeps saying it's crap, nothing to do with money as Poole don't pay over the top, so why do they.

Sorry, I was at a family party so I went for the quick option on wiki. Holder still had a higher GSA than Fricke in both 2023 and 2024.

A photo finish but that means only one winner...... -
Poole take emerging youngsters like fjoord, cairn, rushen because they can see the potential, they have already developed from youth leagues and amateurs...bit like Scunny had with Harrison...Poole sign them and shout out to the world"Look what we unearthed" they may refine them and mould them into better riders but seem to want the credit of finding them
-
Maybe they meant McCartney?? 🤷♀️👀

Sums up how much interest Poole fans have on youth speedway in this country. -
