If Zach does not return I can’t see Bowes being at Poole. No Zach I think we would go for another rider with a slightly higher average

There can be a blue groove on the inside of bend one as a meeting progresses, but this is usually in the hotter, drier days of summer, which Poole have more than their fair share of. Rushden has put in some decent times when he's done some after meeting laps and when he did the Harbour Masters meeting. -

Also by Peterborough, Swindon - these are also "big names" in Speedway too. -

Hugely unlikely they are already getting decent crowds and not much attraction of increasing costs by a third in a league of possibly another 4 or 5 teams, plus if they end up with the three super talented youngsters Cairns, Rushden and Bailey next season if those three can crack on they will bring in the crowds. I haven't been to Poole but the only worry I would have if the one line blue groove quotes are true is its not the kind of track that would suit out and out racers like Rushden and Bailey. -
The 40 point limit was agreed for 3 years (unless they change it at agm)!

Thanks for the update. I've been keeping tabs on their Facebook page. In my opinion speedway could be boosted by having big names like Cradley and Coventry back at the top table.
-
If Ace is at 6, won't have such a strong top 4 obviously. Btw I wouldn't call a rider who can score 4 at home & 2 away a "sacrificial no 7" that sounds like a valuable member of the team.
-
What about that young dane who entered the end of season meeting granted wasn't the strongest field and terrible conditions but he seemed useful ?
-
Jeez where has the time gone, I remember Henka's debut possibly it was against Cradley his first three rides he looked pretty average but by the fourth ride he had weighed the track up and came from the back to win in style pretty much from then on he was a force at Saddlebow Road. Loram was a great rider to watch but Henka in full flow was a cut above even Mark.

I can’t say what actually happened at the meeting but in a nutshell cradley have to convince the council that speedway is the right thing for the area where it is being proposed, that sounds straightforward to me and you but not to non speedway people -
Yep three full seasons, he did five meetings at the end of 1990 after that Bradford World Final appearance and then 91, 92 & 93. Lee was 1991 and what a waste of everyone's time that was. Had Knight stayed instead we would have finished much higher than 8th.

Steve was never banned. His twin brother, Richie, was and still hasn't returned. Steve is rumoured to be retiring at the end of this season.

Was just banned for a year, rode for Scunthorpe this year. Would be on a sub 7 average so good chance he could up that.

I was gutted for Slot yesterday... He should have popped his head around the United dressing room door before the game and asked Ruben to play a high line and to keep playing out from the keeper with plenty of short one touch passes so his team could intecept the ball and score loads of goals.. Instead, he had to try and find a way of winning a game where the opponents decided to do something tactically he didn't want them to... Completely unfair...!! I have only watched Maguire's winner about twenty five times today to see if I am entertained... .. I can see United only getting just under 75000 for their next match now....

I’d have Tate back but try to work it so he’s in a second string position as opposed to a heat leader one. Hook would be the first name on my team sheet.

Is it just minor stuff they are ironing out with the Cradley planning application or are you having to keep it under wraps? If successful would they start NDL or go higher? Surely a club of stature like Cradley would have to aim higher? ( Thanks for the update on 360, a great watch).

I was basing it being a 40 points limit, which it of course might be lower, a lower limit may suit Poole if they have got Cooper

What will 2026 UK speedway bring?
Aries replied to Lionsman66's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The Rowe Motor Oil Premiership and the Cab Ditect Championship are to operate as separate entities. The activists have come to preliminary agreements and at AGM we are to know the final version of the order in the UK for the 2026 season. With each club on British soil that was declining, fans began to wonder about the meaning of the two leagues. The departure of the Birmingham Brummies and Oxford Spires means that next season the Rowe Motor Oil Premiership will not be able to gather more than five teams. Of course, sudden changes in the plans of the promoters and the persuasion of some centers must be taken into account, but the league seems closed. Driving in such a small group is no fight, especially for many clubs in the Cab Direct Championship. There, however, the situation is very different, and most resorts cannot afford to ride in the Premiership. Especially when their current teams rely mainly on players who compete in both leagues. However, the plan to combine the games goes into the background. It will not be without changes If nothing extraordinary happens, the British speedway will remain in the current stage of play. The 2026 season will be played on three levels and, above all, there will be changes in building the squad. Activists work on the transfer market to stay back and build a team worthy of fighting for the championship. We know that the Ipswich Witches, Leicester Lions, Sheffield Tigers, Belle Vue Aces and King's Lynn Stars will remain in the Premiership. Sheffield Tigers are primarily waiting for a new owner, and without it the club will not move next year. The league seems to be cut and even a double basic phase will be of no use. Certainly, the KSM limit is to be changed so that the players can spread out throughout the league. Most likely there will be another reduction, so that the duo of Belle Vue Aces Daniel Bewley and Brady Kurtz may be separated. The Cab Direct Championship does not promise to be many changes, possibly in terms of a greater bet on young Britons. The Mildenhall resort, which is set as the favorite to return to the Championship step, is about to determine its future. Upcoming limits However, there is no denying that the British speedway is facing further regulatory problems. According to the regulations described in the Club Membership Regulations, from the 2027 season, players competing in Poland will be able to choose one foreign league. The question remains, what will the current stars of the Rowe Motor Oil Premiership choose? Will some go to Sweden to race with names, or maybe they will stay in British structures. One thing is known - promoters must start thinking much earlier than a few months before the start of the 2027 season. https://speedwaynews.pl/zuzel/zaskakujace-doniesienia-jednak-nie-dojdzie-do-rewolucji/ -
I quite like it! That's a decent top 4. I'd prefer Ace at No6 if possible, I don't think that bottom three would score much away from home. My thinking, rightly or wrongly, is Ace at No6 and almost having a sacrificial No7 who can chip in 4ish points at home and 2ish points away.
