  1. Past hour
  2. Exactly what I said yesterday. £27 well spent because it got people talking.
  3. Don't think either of them are now available.
  4. Hopefully a 'best pairs' meeting can be arranged.
  5. I remember being at the best pairs at Hackney maybe 1986? And Sam Fox was presenting the trophies … little old me was very pleased lol
  6. Because the limit was too low the season before, therefore the rider averages are artificially inflated and now the demand is to raise it to keep riders in team places but then gets exploited because signing Mulford on 8.74 (probably less as i didn't take the brit reduction off before doubling his CL average) is less points used than Ace Pijper or Ben Trigger who had poorer seasons in the CL than Mulford did. I can see a lot of emerging riders being pushed out this year and teams made up of CL reserves and NL non improving journeymen.
  7. Oi oi granted your taking your chances if you venture into Lynn or Yarmouth and your not on your toes but the other 98% is all farms and country pubs which are most agreeable, If you see a wiry fella in Lynn who would now be about 80 shouting "RICHARD KNIGHT" at about 10 thousand decibels best give him a wide birth,
  8. Blame Leicester, Oxford and Lynn for that one. They pushed for it.
  9. Today
  10. In the grand scheme of things yesterdays bit of misguided publicity is no big deal really, the sport has bigger issues to worry about and it got the sport in the papers today and for good or bad it got tongues wagging all over the sport, looking back it’s quite funny really and in a strange way I’m sort of looking forward for who is the next former celebrity to get dragged out to show their closet love of our wonderful sport, maybe Rob Godfrey might even be able to remember the name of the next one
  11. don't think a trip into Norfolk is a treat
  12. Depends how they’ll sit financially I guess.
  13. Exactly. Correct. He’s clearly going to have to be compensated for walking away. He’s not going to let them run HIS business. The sale is going to need to go through for everyone’s sake here. It’s a complete mess.
  14. I think folk are taking this all too seriously!
  15. I’m not sure that’s correct Phil. The BSPL can’t just take over and run it without Chris Louis’ agreement can they? And I’m not convinced the rest of the BSPL are in Louis’ good books at the moment! Think he’d rather close it down than help them run their league..
  16. Trying to get something for his business while is might have a little bit of resale value. If he doesn’t run in 2026 he won’t be exposing himself to the risk of losing huge sums of money running the club.
  17. Bristol had a long history of speedway (1920s-1960s), though it's last season before the late 70s was 1961.
  18. Rumours are the seat went missing when she straddled it
  19. While Louis is entitled to do what he had done. You have too question the way he has went about it and timing given his knowledge of the sport.IMO.
  20. I wouldn't worry. Because even if a buyer can't be sorted the BSPL will run Ipswich. So they will be running 100% just who will be running them
  21. If Ipswich don't run, won't Nortthampton have the chance to pick up the riders Ipswich would have had?
  22. It isn't the best sales pitch is it? "I am selling up as what is being planned won't work for me"....
  23. She looked a bit better back then I admit. Today’s version is somewhat different. Wonder if Dean climbed on after this shoot… hope the seat was comfy .
  24. This is symptomatic of the state British Speedway is in. The advertising budget stretched to a cameo video and a paper bag with some scraps of paper in it. Getting a celebrity to host the draw. Great idea. Where's the celebrity? Not knocking Linda Lusardi but she just isn't the person to be promoting Speedway in 2026. Within Cameo's ranks there are more famous people. But a Cameo video itself is tinpot to the max. To make it work and to draw new eyes you have to collaborate with someone who has a social media following. They need to post it on their socials so that their audience sees it and may be intrigued. Not stick a Cameo video of them on your own social media reaching the same people who already follow you. Funnily enough there is a high profile celebrity who now has skin in the game and a solid social media following. Harry Redknapp. Considering he is invested in the sport I'm sure he'd have done it for free. It would have reached a bigger audience and any benefit from it helps the sport and Harry's investment in the same breath.
  25. That doesn’t make any sense. So what is he selling then? He doesn’t want to “risk his own financial security”, but he’s asking a sh!t load of money for someone else to do just that? If he thinks it’s no longer profitable, and he thinks it’s only going to get worse and he’ll end up LOSING money, then why not give it away?
  26. Absolutely correct. The points limit is set far too high this season.
