  2. Couple of factors imo. Tom Brennan's form has led to Danny scoring more than expected on a regular basis. Also Danny's riding in the easiest race position in the 1-5 imo in a very weak PREM.
  3. Will be unemployable for Ipswich if Mayfield are serious about winning silverware. (On the basis his average ends up around 7.50-8.00) Been fantastic this season but can Mayfield really take a chance in sacrificing a proper No.5 in order to fit Danny in based on his Foxhall form? Heats 13 and 15 on the road will be a major issue if Ipswich don't sign an out-an-out No.5 to go with a No.1 imo.

  5. That's precisely what the petition addresses. It proposes that riders are offered the opportunity of a contract guaranteeing 40+ meetings per season in a 15-team nationwide league. If they don't want that, they have the freedom to clear off and ply their trade elsewhere. But we can no longer continue to have our fixture arrangements dictated by Poland to meet the demands of riders who want to have their cake and eat it: earning their bread and butter in the UK leagues and chasing the Polish Zloty to put the jam on top. I would urge all real fans to sign it: Petition · Survival of British Speedway Racing in 2027 and beyond - United Kingdom · Change.org
  6. I think if you study the petition that's being proposed, it actually answers all the issues you've raised. Speedway has to change if it is to survive, and our petition proposes exactly that. I would urge all real fans to sign it: Petition · Survival of British Speedway Racing in 2027 and beyond - United Kingdom · Change.org
  7. The petition isn't suggesting we do that. The principle is to offer riders the opportunity of a contract guaranteeing 40+ meetings per season in a 15-team nationwide league. If they don't want that, they have the freedom to clear off and ply their trade elsewhere. But we can no longer continue to have our fixture arrangements dictated by Poland because riders want to have their cake and eat it: earning their bread and butter in the UK leagues and chasing the Polish Zloty to put the jam on top. We recently had the ridiculous situation of Leicester taking a weakened team to Sheffield because Dan Thompson was summoned to ride for his Polish team, but found himself sitting in the pits without a single ride. These situations are not uncommon as we all know and it must stop. Speedway has to change if it is to survive, and our petition proposes exactly that. I would urge all real fans to sign it: Petition · Survival of British Speedway Racing in 2027 and beyond - United Kingdom · Change.org
  8. Is king riding better or is the league weaker? A handful of injuries to the top headleaders has made his job a bit easier I would argue
  9. Honestly didn't think it was possible to beat last year's massive Ben Fund collection but you wonderful generous supporters have indeed beaten it. A staggering £3368.38 was collected last night, way to go Witches🤑 On another note, just imagine how good Richard could/would have been if he cleaned and maintained his bikes/kit/van. The guy is so infuriating turning up late, kit missing, leaving early, then usually performing excellently. He could so easily have been GB team . And another note Tom last night. Heat 1 he came off track looking like he was going to burst into tears, so down he looked like he needed an arm around his shoulders, what he got was Martin Dugard setting him straight, and the loudest noise came from his mechanic (who doesn't normally say a word🤪) cheering him home in heat 13.

  11. we agued on here for 5 month's through the winter, petitions, and marches never work, those in charge have their own agenda, I'm also including the government in this.
  12. Using UK and Polish Speedway expectations of the riders is not a valid comparison... Poland has high rewards, and with it, (quite rightly), comes high expectations as to the professionalism of its riders and officials.. Its "brand" has a value and needs protecting... The UK has a regulation which gets used from time to time called "in the interest of Speedway"... Which, basically means "we have had to make something up to get a meeting on".... Any sport that has such a thing within its operating model definitely cannot ever be taken seriously... Not by the promoters themselves, nor the fans, nor the wider media, and, I would suggest, nor all the riders.. The DU'ers are pretty much "bomb proof" due to a lack of riders of their level willing to ride over here, to fill the places the teams need filling... (And of course due to a lack of any meaningful structured UK rider development over the past few decades)... The (maybe), unpalatable truth is that these riders can pretty much do what they want given the demand for them well exceeds the supply available.. I'd hate the game before the player...
  13. Presumably they'll want to extend their "source of income" as far into the future as possible. After all, bankruptcy is not a good look. They must have realized by now that the present modus operandi isn't working (Damian's press release says as much). They must also have realized that a begging bowl doesn't work either - nobody invests money in a losing cause. Which is why Damian's press release wasn't a begging bowl. It was an appeal for new ideas. Our petition, therefore, has a good chance of being heard by listening ears. In the final analysis it's always a good idea to be on the right side of the argument, so I am urging all real fans to get with the programme and support our petition: Petition · Survival of British Speedway Racing in 2027 and beyond - United Kingdom · Change.org Has anybody got any better ideas?
  14. I have been going long enough to know that's always been the case, that doesn't make it right. That's part off the reason speedway in the UK is in the mess it's in, building down not up.
  15. Absolutely nothing has been done differently at Sheffield (or anywhere else!) this season. Einstein summed it up when he said that doing the same thing time after time and expecting different results is the definition of madness. Damian Bates and, I suspect, most of the promoters in UK speedway, can't seem to grasp that the only solution to getting better results lies in CHANGING SOMETHING... and the more radical the better! We're drinking in the last chance saloon and, mark my words, until they adopt a model like the one suggested in our petition - or something like it - we're sunk. 16. The averages in the Star are meaningless. Keep an eye on the details available via the speedwaygb website (2016 Rider Statistics and 2026 Declarations).
  17. You may not be having a go at Poole but if it was any other team it wouldn't get a mention.
  18. I wouldn't' grade A!! He just hates Poole. He thinks he is being funny calling us Pilots and the track Wimbored.
  19. Posting Arthur’s profile photo again you imposter
  20. That’s always been the case though. Number ones of a certain standard is a bit different. You take them even if they have little chance of increasing their averages, but from there down there’s always riders who look to have either cheap, or expensive averages. Building a winning team is all about leaving out riders who look to have maxed out their average, and employ those who have had a year below their normal level who you know are capable of much better. Brennan and King are currently good examples at opposite ends of the scale. One would be a much smarter 2027 signing than the other. You’re right though, it’s a shame the way it works and it doesn’t seem fair that a rider exceeds expectations, and then gets rewarded for that by losing his place the following year. I’m not sure what you can do though really. I think King will be in the team regardless of his average next year personally.
