  1. Today
  2. Person sitting next to me said they had just seen Gary go to the ref’s phone in the pits when Klima was disqualified from heat 14. Only repeating what I was told. Fair enough if it wasn’t him sorting out the refs mess.
  3. Yesterday
  4. This is not good. Taken from Speedway Plus on X: Very interesting comments from Ben Barker on Pirates TV this evening: "..with the riders now being told we've got no rider insurance by the BSPL, so we're not actually insured, to a certain extent, ...the rider insurance needs to be addressed immediately" Ben has also posted on social media himself tonight reiterating this and saying he will most probably get fined for revealing this but it needs to be said.
  5. Not sure where you get your info but Garry wasn't anywhere near a phone
  6. Thank you both, thats great info and really reassuring, not been to Poole for well over a decade and will have my little one with me so it's good to know we should be able to park at or near the stadium. Really looking forward to it and hopefully we'll see a Pirates win
  7. R/R Also there are plenty of residential side roads off Wimborne Road to park down.
  8. I went to poole for the match bad crash heat 1 but u put up a fantastic fight danny king is definitely your no1
  9. Assuming it’s back to 7:30 start. 6pm I’m sure you’d get a space, and worst case scenario you’d be directed into the school car park, I usually get there closer to 7 and have never not been able to park in the main car park or school.
  10. It was a nasty crash the crowd was like the final end of season, poole must have made some money.my first visit from wales but it was worth it.
  11. Hi all, looking for a bit of advice. I’m coming down for Poole v Scunthorpe next week and was planning to park at the stadium. What time do you usually need to arrive to get a space? And if it’s full, what’s the best alternative - town centre parking and walk over?
  12. I figured you would be the guy to know. Massive F up that they didn't tell anyone if true! Doubt it'll get sorted now the season has started but we can hope 🫣
  13. Assuming the Poole management would already have a plan for Zach tomorrow, is it R/R or is there a guest to come in?
  14. just spoke to Ben, it seems there is no insurance from the bspl/SCB now, it was deducted from your wages per race but it seems this is not the case anymore, some riders do have personal cover and the Ben fund do help but no insurance is bad and needs to be addressed
  15. Hi Neil. Guess what I won't be cheering for Comets either. 😀
  16. Is he back in again though? I took that comment as tongue in cheek.
  17. Sounds very nasty ,nobody likes to see riders badly injured.wish him well and good recovery.
  18. Just saw this from Ben Barker on Facebook following what happened to Tobias Thomsen (hope he gets better soon): "Really wish tobias a speedy recovery... horrible timing for any accident but to find out we are not insured by the bspl like we have been for the last 30years that I remember... probably get fined for this but as captain of my team this needs addressing... please share this post so this gets addressed and sorted ASAP" I'm not 100% sure of the ins and outs of this, so hoping someone in the know can shed some light on it, but it sounds pretty bad if the BSPL have moved the goalposts and not told the riders...
  19. I heard about broken femur and a gash on his head with lots of blood but didn’t want to post incase it was false. It was the worst possible way to start a season. I am guessing he will be out for a considerable length of time. Rotten luck there Tobias.
  20. Broken femur, eye socket, punctured lung and damaged ribs. Not good at all. Speedy recovery Tobi.
  21. I guess it was pretty full. I was looking forward to going, but we were running a bit late. We got to the stadium about 5:30 only to find that the carpark was already full, and still a big queue of cars behind us trying to get in. We went home, which is probably just as well. I don't think my grandson would have had the patience to sit through the delay. Hope Tobi is okay, that's the main thing. Top guy who always engaged with the fans.
  22. my body my choice..😁, ill also be going to some polish meeting's
  23. I see the Belle Vue team are moaning on BRF about you missing UK fixtures yet are ok to turn up for Polish meetings.
  24. Think it’s a great idea. Other clubs don’t give the opposition the opportunity to feel the track. About time we did the same.
  25. There was a short delay when Gary May got on the phone to the ref after he disqualified Kilmarnock in heat 14 because according to the ref, he had already had 7 rides. Everyone around us was perplexed as we had him down as heat 14 being his 7th ride. Reason given was heat 9 and the ref wasn’t aware Spencer had come in to replace Klima. As for Plymouth, Kling was his usual excellent self, Thompson continues to improve, Barker battles. Is Father Time finally catching up with Scotty? He ran two lasts but was still very fast. Klima was very good value. Battled all night. Don’t think he will be at reserve very long. Spencer is a filler. For Poole Lawson unluckily to be disqualified imo but I only saw it live and it was done in a flash. Battled well considering it was nasty. Newman did more than expected. Kerr was Kerr. Bowes improved as the meeting went on. Cook was excellent. Cairns battled all night, and Rushen found it tough as expected. But thoughts must go to Tobias who got the far worse of an extremely nasty crash. I won’t mention rumours of injuries and everything will be known very soon. But I will just say get well soon Tobias. Always popular at Wimborne Road.
