Thomsen finished 11th on 62p from 9 rounds. Kvech finished 13th on 52p from 7 rounds that makes about 7,2p/round to Thomsen and about 7.4 p/round for Kvech.

I honestly can't think of another sport that is ignored so much by the media....it's just shameful, a disgrace in fact. (ok so stock cars are also in the main ignored too).

He looks the best American prospect for many a year would probably put him on a par with Cooper but possibly slightly better once he gets racing in UK/Europe regularly but both should be top half gp riders in the future with the right guidance and assuming avoiding big injuries that would set them back.

My maths were a little out!!! The cost at the NSS was said to be circa £250k - £300k.. Hence two nights would seem to be a must to help cover that cost and, more importantly, make money... A 4,500 or so capacity would need a fair few quid entrance fee to make enough money to make all the work worthwhile..

5 venues in Manchester carry the 'national' prefix I can't speak for all the sports but plenty of major cycling events take place at the London and Glasgow velodromes. It's just a funding and prestige thing for Manchester City Council. I don't know why people get so worked up about it. Think the scoring system needs total revamp it’s joke that you can score less points than you did in the meeting and someone could more than double their score by being in the Final.The sprint Formula is also total farce.You have the slowest time of the1st round and still go through.It should be scrapped IMO.Wont hold my breath though. Problem is there is only about 7 riders who are consistent enough to win.(and 2 of them aren’t even in GP’s) ’

If they were to take out the Croatian licence it would mean them giving up their Polish race licences, and this wouldn't be a one off for just that GP either, it would have to be for the season. And neither of them would do that for one simple reason...money. By racing under the Croatian licence, it would mean that Wroclaw and Gorzow would not be able to track them as Poles, as Ekstraliga clubs have to pick two senior Polish riders. The pair are far more valuable as Poles, as they can demand more lucrative contracts given the relatively small group of riders at their level than they can as international riders, which they would be if they changed to a Croatian licence. I cannot see either of them wanting to make less money in the world's top league, can you? This is why I said earlier that maybe money is more important to both than the world championship. Darija Pavlic gave them both the option a while back and neither has taken it up. That speak volumes.

Re the much debated sackings, I think Richard will follow another clubs method and ditch the hire & fire mentality of old. Feeding the declarations into AI or cherry picking a now headline making star again is such a cold way of assembling a side. Danny, Tobi & Tom are now all Ipswich legends and will be retained and Edwards will come in on a 3. Add in Jason (Ipswich legend, but don’t let him fall back again after a stellar season as an Ace) plus Kasper (7.50) and you’re hitting the rumoured 40 point mark.

Always an element of risk as you just never know. Who’s to say this isn’t the start of a permanent struggle? Having said that, even if you don’t believe he’ll hit the heights in the sport and become a GP regular as many have tipped him for, he’s been consistently upping his average for the last few years until this year where he’s had his first real blip. 5.91 is just far too tempting for me to leave him out and potentially let someone get a bargain on the back of his struggles this year with us. Get a couple of big hitters above him (like he had with Doyle and Emil) and take the pressure off him in the middle order. If he has another year next like this one, then perhaps let him go. When I look at the GSA’S of those on a similar average, and those above him like King on 7.35, then Brennan becomes a no brainer really. Someone asked the question on here a week ago “would you retain Brennan” and I instantly replied No. But I didn’t realise just how much his average had fallen.

I get what you're saying here but if he can't turn it around over a whole season, why should it happen over the winter? I'm not too sure if he's reached his level, a six pointer capable of the odd great meeting and a stinker to follow.

If not having a GP is the criteria for not being called The NSS why have you waited until now? We’ve only had GP’s this year and last. Naming it the NSS helped get it over the line and follow the Polish model of council funded speedway. I think it’s a good thing that should be replicated by other clubs but as with most things Belle Vue they are not and the sport is where it is, unfortunately. At least Richard Coleman has observed what we do and seems keen to replicate. He has more to do and I sense he likes the race track element and the long term team building ethos, so they should be next. Whether he’s bothered about renaming his stadium is debatable.

Masters will never ride for Glasgow & rightly so after witnessing him giving the middle finger to all the fans in the main stand once whilst riding for the monarchs. Pickering very much an eastender also so non starter.

I think the difference with Richard is that his career has been built in motorsport. He understands what’s needed commercially & also has the contacts to make it happen. The big IF is it can only happen if the BSPL are going to listen. He is last chance saloon for the sport. He appears to have the ears of the FIM & the poles so I am optimistic.
