  1. Past hour
  2. When you've been to a public school and its on your CV. The old boys network kicks and you end up with a nice little number for the rest of your life!!
  3. Incitement for who to do what? As I have already said Glasgow supporters go to see good racing not shout abuse at riders, win, lose or draw.
  4. Unlucky Aces, started decent and thought we were in for a long night but we turned it round after heat 8 and kept the foot down to get the job done. Tough conditions for both riders early on and not as big crowd as I expect but weather might had played a part. I want to mention this though… my Polish mother in law came over and she has a close friend who was diagnosed with cancer recently, and she has an operation next month. Her favourite rider is Bewley so today after the meeting we waitied to see if he would give us a minute of his time. He was very polite and listened to the story of her friend, he put his bags down and wrote a message out directed to her, wishing her all the best and signing it. For me, it’s something he didn’t have to do especially after that meeting and not the best performance but he was still willing to be a kind human to help another out and make her day. I wished him all the best for the weekend and off he went, sometimes you can get caught up in the racing but these guys are just humans like us and whether Ipswich won or lost tonight I would remember that gesture of kindness over speedway. Good luck Saturday Dan B.
  5. He broke his leg when he hit a drain lid in the second half of a league meeting at Hyde Road. It was a week before the world final. Even if he did have a league meeting that week. I'm sure no one would have blamed him for missing the meeting with a broken leg!. What I was trying to say, Riders were very much more of club men back then. They didn't ride in Sweden on a Tuesday and Poland on a Sunday. Yes they rode long track meetings in Germany and such, but they were individual meetings, so for the likes of PC and Mort, the Aces was their club. Yes the Aces are Bewley's and Kurtz's club, but they also have a Polish club and a Swedish club and as such their loyalties are split. No doubt the highest payers will always come first and thats not Belle Vue!
  6. I'm intrigued to know what people think they should be paying to watch professional sportsmen, including some of the best in the world ? As well as watching speedway, I am a regular at stock car racing and football. My football team are in League 1 (3rd tier), and the match day ticket price is £30. Stock car racing, depending on the formulas racing as there are different levels, varies generally from £20-25. When it is a bigger meeting, such as the British Championship or the European the the prices is closer to £30, and this weekend is the World Championship with advance tickets at £42 and on the day price of £48. In comparison to this, I don't think that £25 is too high a price for top league speedway, and would expect an increase for the play off semis and final.
  7. Have you not been watching Man City this season?
  8. No wonder they blew their lead. 18 pints is a bit much for anyone!
  9. Pure greed from Lemon. Something about him I can’t stand.
  10. Today
  11. I tend to reserve hatred for people who deserve it more than speedway riders who dont perform as well as I'd like them to
  12. I would expect Man utd to lose whether Haaland plays or not!
  13. Didn't a few of those riders blow an 18 pint lead in a play off final on a wet track🤔 oops.
  14. Luckily Emil attitude problems kept the score below 60. How any Ipswich fan can back a performance like that on your home track when you haven't won the league in 27 years is beyond me. Easy typing words hey 😃
  15. Tbf the BV fans on FB said they should have got a guest in lol. As I've said previously in seasons past UK is bottom in his list of priorities. Always will be.
  16. That will not give them the flexibility of self employment and the opportunity to take on the mechanics etc that they need but I do not disagree with what you are saying. It would solve many problems but given the fact that they ride for different teams, tax, NI and other issues would make it problem for most with them riding under different tax regimes.
  17. Long gone are those days... Whisper it, but watching Brady and Dan howling around the boards can actually now be "average" to watch given they do it so often.. I stopped going to Kirky Lane when watching Jason Crump howling into the bends quicker than anyone else by miles, also became "average" to watch, as he did it so often... When I watch (UK) speedway it has very little riding (pardon the pun), on it given the Mickey Mouse rules and lack of credibility, therefore it is only the racing that gets me to attend... And I attend the play offs as usually it feels like an "event" you are attending with decent crowds... Monday night was a dreadful spectacle in front of a half empty grandstand, and tonight's offering on track even worse... Anyone watching at home who are non speedway fans, but casually watching due to its Semi Final status would have done well to get to Heat 10 tonight, let alone Heat 15.. Sad to see the sport in its current state, but not sure those running it have the capability to turn it around, given they are responsible for the current state in the first place..
  18. Yes but it's you who's been harping on about the Belle Vue track all season, every opportunity, you're just perpetuating the discussion by doing so but you don't see it. Doyle has put in his share of off nights over the years, luckily for you he's currently keen to show what he's made of, a very tough dependable rider. Now jog on and enjoy your victory you nasty man.
  19. The amount of mistakes Telvin Katum has made yet again tonight while repeating the same old regurgitated phrases is unforgivable at this point. Cannot wait to get back to BSN and get away from this tinpot TNT gutter tripe.
  20. At last?? We got there 2 years ago af would have last year if we had a fit Doyle and Emil but that’s speedway Oh I’m glad we in the final but it’s nice to have a pop at your opponents when all season long all we hear is how every track should be like Belle Vue yawn If it was Doyle who had a world championship on the line and he did what Kurtz did tonight I’d be fuming
  21. It'll never happen but riders should probably be salaried, this would solve a lot of issues.
  22. Not good enough from BVs top two. Both Emil and Doyle arent what they were but Doyle has rolled back the years lately. Emil is way off it though and has been all season.
  23. One issue is that it is no longer a team sport in this country despite what is promoted. Riders are self employed throttle jockeys who make a living riding a motorcycle for whoever will pay them but ultimately they all seek the top prize and that in itself can in part be prejudiced by who pays what. Poland pays its riders top dollar and so the financial penalties of not complying are quite high. If you are a GP rider you are torn between league and world ranking and the play off arrangements perhaps distort the aspirations of clubs versus individuals hopes at top level and hence the system may need reviewing to accommodate the status of those who ply their trade on a speedway bike. It is not easy to find a balance but something needs to give.
  24. It's not about being happy with him, more a case of it being none of your business. You're through to a final at last but all you've done is slag off the opposition, that speaks volumes about you and your kind, your mate Shovlar sticking his oar in as well with stupid comments, of course Brady never rode for Poole again because they went down a league. Try being happy for your club, you're in nosebleed territory now.
