  1. Past hour
  2. Whàt an amazing concept.... I wonder if they could get someone from NASA involved to work out such a system..?? No idea why it just doesn't happen now... Clubs who race on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, sign riders who they know will, at some stàge of the season, miss their fixtures due to clashes elsewhere, injuries and sickness, and will then just use Guests, or RR And trying to plan in when eveyone is there in a sport so injury impacted is pretty much impossible anyway... Therefore, just plan in the meetings, say every fortnight, and put out two teams of riders using either RR or Guests if not all 14 who should be there can make it.. As, basically, that's whàt ends up happening now after weeks of no meetings anyway...
  3. Chris Harris want 4home/4away to make it pay.😂👍
  4. It could still be difficult for Fri/Sat tracks if they sign riders with overseas commitments - League, SGP or whatever. Especially with new rider restrictions due to come in in Poland and already some riders calling for 2 home/2 away in the domestic leagues.
  5. Don't the stocks run on the tarmac track, so why would the speedway track have clay in it
  6. As a Promoter Damian Bates needs to actually promote the sport and not be asking fans to do it for him. Friends of fans will know what they go support etc but having such a stop start season with repetitive opposition it’s a hard one to sell, but that again comes down to incompetence of BSPL
  7. Maybe, that's what happened to me as I have got older , still think you are a youngster and can fight the world !, but will see my son on Wednesday who regularly came with me and see how he remembers it 🤔 Think the shovel was a gesture/warning and no one actually got hit with it
  8. The club have just made a statement where Damien Bates has called for the public to keep spreading the word about speedway after last Thursday's home fixture was 'run at a significant loss.' Not good.
  9. The art of a good commentator is to know what to say and when to keep quiet based on whether they are on the tv or the radio. For television, you don't need to explain absolutely everything as people can see it for themselves. For radio, a continual description is needed. For a phrase, one that Olly Allen has used quite a few times this year when conditions has been wet (and others have used it as well) is "He's been filled in..." We know it's to do with the dirt, but it can have other meanings! 😉
  10. I'm hearing that this situation is a big talking point with most of the promotions, apparently they are trying to figure out how to work 1 home 1 away like football, so 2 or 3 home fixtures a month for next season
  11. The championship fixtures are crazy. Oxford have had 7 of their 8 away matches already, Poole have only raced 1 away match. Surely it wouldnt be difficult to get the spread more even. To be fair, the premiership fixtures are a lot more even.
  12. Apparently clashes with some sort of football match on the telly.
  13. Today
  14. I suspect that if Mr Coleman didn't come into the sport in the UK with his eyes open that they are well and truly open now to how far off a professional sport Speedway is in the UK. Despite some of the improvements introduced by Mr Morris in recent seasons, a lot of which have been rowed back on since his departure... Most clubs can't even start their meetings at the advertised start time for goodness sake! Having Mr Lawson in the team has probably given him a good example of how the sport is currently run for the riders and it is they who will decide where and when they ride with their multiple contracts around Europe. The pits full of freeloading hangers on, kids... and mechanics all competing for the @rse crack of the year trophy. Tracks being served up that are far from conducive for good Speedway racing. To be honest I'd be surprised if he stuck it out for 5 years
  15. You get all kinds but most people at the Speedway are really good in my experience.
  16. You don't always tell it how it is, and how it is, is not always factual you're telling it how it is from your own view which can sometimes be right or wrong factually, opinion wise its neither as its your own opinion. Sometimes you hammer home an opinion based on an outcome i.e. the Heat 15, I doubt that opinion would have existed if Ipswich got the points? Always easier to shoot someone down after an event had occurred rather than give a fair opinion to compare before the event took place Maybe Thursday you can give us some live forum updates on what you would do regarding H15 before Hurry makes his own choices, compare then With your own personal views if the season has been negative ie overall performance, live event entertainment, track etc knock yourself out with what you're doing as points are valid on an individual basis As for IainB never met the fella if he does indeed identify as one
  17. High Wide and Handsome I reckon! A couple of ones that I always recall and they actually started to grate on me a bit - 'he's going to wind it on round the outside' - 'Cuts back to the inside' both these phrases usually resulted in no passing!
  18. Charge of the heavy brigade into the first turn, not for the feint hearted, where angels fear to tread, party piece. All great Lanningisms. I dont think he'll ever be bettered personally.
  19. Is Doyle now riding?... I noticed he's included this fixture on his instagram story... Or is he just promoting the meeting and giving his sponsors a push?
  20. Only Sheffield have recorded scores in the early 40s this season, with two under 30s. I can't see the Foxes troubling the Aces too much, but hopefully nearer the Tigers than Ipswich or King's Lynn...
  21. The best thing Sam ever done was giving paedo Shawn a slap in the car park. Shame he didn't stamp all over his head now looking back. 😂 Does anyone remember the 99 PLRC at Sheffield and former rider Derrol Keats glassing a fan in the bar? Sure he got banged up for it.
