  1. Past hour
  2. Not really as if Ipswich win then there 100% top. Yes it wont change anything as the cut off date will be before the Sheffield restating, but its still better for top to be determined on the track.
  3. Halifax ?, Eastbourne ?, Stoke ?.
  4. One can only guess that they don’t want to run the second leg after a 30 point trouncing at Wimborne Road. Surely they could find a gust to replace King who would have been riding for Ippo at Sheffield (postponed), a Premiership team racing on a protected CL race night ?
  5. Hope your disappointment soon wears off. You could always go watch United or Wednesday instead. They’re both doing well aren’t they ?
  6. You’re right it is, unless Sheffield manage to run this at the weekend. Let’s hope Sheffield don’t turn us over at Foxhall tomorrow (providing that goes ahead as well) because if they do, we could have the farcical situation again of the wrong teams facing each other in the semi finals when the Sheffield fixture gets run after the play offs and the final table ends up different to what it currently is..
  7. No prize fund for the Comp in 2025. There was in 2024. So he is basically talking rubbish.
  8. Nonsense to say a 'small minority' ran on Saturday! Off hand, l can think of Belle Vue, Cradley, Berwick, Coventry, Swindon, Canterbury, King's Lynn, Edinburgh/Coatbridge... and l think l've probably missed a couple more.
  9. Anders Frojd, manager of Lejonen in the swedish league talked about his team the upcoming week and whether Bastian Pedersen would be included and said: "Bastian can't ride next week because of the u24 final, price for the winner is a million Zloty. I don't think Torun are that interested in realeasing him ." 1 000 000 Zloty is £200k, truly remarkable the resources and money in the polish system.
  10. Lots of failing businesses bring in a troubleshooter to assess their business model, opening model, and customer service plan... If such a person were asked to come in I am sure they would suggest the following.... * Open your doors when your customers want you to open, not when your employees tell you they can work... * Stop opening your doors knowing you havent enough staff, meaning you end up borrowing employees from your competition, which isn't a good look... * Set a payroll budget and stick to it, and ensure your marketing budget is sufficient to generate the required interest and population reach. Don't overpay employees to the detriment of the marketing budget... * Collectively market the business nationally and target families with young kids with all season round offers, given you are in the entertainment business... * Take every opportunity when on TV to make your premises look full, and make it somewhere those watching at home would want to visit... * Ensure what you are delivering to your customers has credibility, integrity, and is done at a competitive price point that accurately reflects the quality of what you provide, not what you think you actually provide... * Have a customer focused refund system should you not he able to provide the required service on any given night, especially to those who have travelled from further afield to attend your establishment... * Have clear, unambiguous Quality Control measures in place that all must follow to ensure the brand is never damaged. As you are only as strong as your weakest link... * And. As you are only as strong as your weakest link, ensure all work for the overall good of the business, and never in isolation.. I am sure there are plenty of other suggestions too...
  11. You'd have thought that, with the air fence having a shelf life, a certain ex world champion could re-purpose old air fences as track covers and sell them back to clubs... just a thought.
  12. At least I don't have to travel the three miles to the track. I have a ticket from last week's fiasco, can I still get a refund? I am so fed up up with speedway at the moment, I doubt if I will go again.
  13. I note Poole are not racing tonight Wednesday 3rd September. Reasons ? What is the matter with UK speedway, with all this posturing for running 1st or 2nd legs in a P.Off meeting ? In a year noted for drought conditions throughout the summer, once again there is a scramble to finish fixtures in the autumn on off race nights.
  14. Today
  15. This postponement means tomorrow’s meeting at Ipswich is a waste it time, other than to work on the averages as deadline for league meeting points (and bonus point) will have been and gone by time this gets rearranged
  16. I don’t know what other people’s feelings are but for me unless something (quite possibly radical is done), then speedway as we know it will soon be lost altogether. The questions are numerous and the answers to those questions s extremely complex. It is clear that we all want speedway to continue as a team sport. I would like the BSPA (even though it will never happen) to bring in someone, an independent outsider with knowledge and experience of the sports and entertainment industry to come in, give a different perspective. Let them take a really good look at speedway this year by visiting tracks, talking to fans, riders, promotors and other stakeholders. We may not like what they have to say and their thinking may be radical, but what do we have to loose? We are on the cusp of loosing speedway at the moment. I know it is a massive gamble, but I feel it is worth taking the risk. What are others thoughts?
  17. Actually, back in the day (70's 80's when there were many tracks and support was large and healthy) The majority of teams had mid-week race nights with only a small minority racing on Saturday and no major clubs rode on Sundays. By doing this all clubs were able to hold a meeting each week and if race nights clashed they went to their nominated alternative race night. Example, Leicester's race night was Tuesday with the alternative being Friday (might have been Thursday). However as Lions were the only Tuesday club the alternative was rarely used. Also worth noting that the age profile was also very mixed with many school kids attending either with or without parents many who actually had to use public transport to get to the meetings.
  18. They seem determined or it would have been called off by now, hopefully it will clear up and they can get the track sorted.
  19. Back in Crookes now and heavy rain like you o fear this will be called off again 5 mins later bloody suns out!! I think they will leave this as late as possible to see if they can get it on!
  20. Yes just saying Poole is not to blame on this occasion, we get enough flack, speedway is a shambles in general, as you say it is going down the pan with more clubs closing, I have been to many of the clubs that have closed. I thought Morris was brought in to help, he has done absolutely nothing.
