  1. Past hour
  2. What exactly does "Ipswich Speedway Promotions Limited" own? I assume they don't own the track and they don't own the riders. So what exactly is somebody buying?
  3. Hasn't the defrosting of Russell's Swindon licence elapsed and anybody is free to run Swindon now?
  4. That top 3 riders would be good as you have said there are 3 riders there who could be a number 1 rider
  5. If Christopher Louis cannot get a buyer for "Ipswich Witches Seedway Limited" (including start gate air fence tractor and flags), I guess Spedeworth could thank him for his past business, ask him to clear out his equipment from their stadium, and allow Terry Russell's newly formed Ipswich "Robins" Speedway Limited to do a deal with Spedeworth to rent the stadium . If the Robins supplied all thier own equipment and defrosted their former Swindon license , what could be the problem? Riders are all self employed so no issues there. In theory Russell could do a deal with former Robin Jason Doyle to race for him. Louis's retirement from the sport does not grant him a lifetime exclusive ownership of speedway promoting rights at the Spedeworth owned stadium ?
  6. No doubt the fee/pay rate for the meeting would have made it worthwhile doing, and the increased crowd level covered the extra expense to the promoter. I can well imagine today's riders doing it if the money was right, but would the crowd level cover it today?
  7. Because Bartoz Zmarzlik is by quite a long way the most naturally talented exciting speedway rider that has ever to set foot on a speedway bike and soon to become the greatest rider of all time too, he rides the bike like nobody past or present does and that’s where I stand, him being the ONE rider, quite simple really, I am in no way saying any British club should sign him even if the got him cheap ,I shall go to Poland to watch him if I want to see him race, I’m merely making the point he is the one rider who I would happily pay to see race multiple times a season
  8. Scunny I’d have had Lambert and Perry as final two and I’m sure majority of others would too.
  9. I’ll have half of what you’re on 👍
  10. At least he'll have a decent Aussie colleague guiding him at home as well as for his 2nd season at most away tracks.😝
  11. Final point the Fords don't also hang around if they are struggling at the halfway stage. Do they wait that long ?
  12. Now that Poland have released their fixtures Swedish Bauhaus league ditos should not be far off.
  13. Sadly that is where the sport is and unfortunately it is going to take something special to get the riders to trust those in charge and believe they have a future in the over here. You really despair at the thought process of the few individuals who seemingly are driving speedway in the UK and wonder why they think that everything is hunky dory. Take a look at the Mainland European scene and speedway UK is way behind the curve. Thankfully those on the continent are professional, mainland U K are also rans but at least we can watch professional leagues race through the summer months. Speedway UK simply cannot compete on organisation, credibility or professional run sport. Oh well always regular Sunday speedway from Poland on free streams with the top riders, full stadia and incredible atmosphere. Dream on BSPL.
  14. Who knows! In 2036, speedway could be thriving, up and down the country, with 50 tracks! 🙂
  15. Today
  16. watched him at Edinburgh and the guy looked like he'd never rode a bike before Was a painful watch, but hope the pilots fans have a painful watch seeing him round wimbored road every week 😝
  17. A very big gamble if it happens, at sometime in the last few seasons he has gone AWOL for one reason or another. But on his day can score 12-15 points on any track, remember Plymouth in 2024 he did not like the track, but ended up unbeaten 😁 but if he signs Comets could have 3 potential number ones in the team, jesper, batch and cookie
  18. Indecision in GB contributed for them committing to mainland Europe.IMO
  19. Because testimonials have nothing to do with being an asset or not!
  20. Love or hate him but Cookie is still one of the best riders in the league that’s the fact here we can all probably agree with. For me and whatever the reason was he shouldn’t of left last season he’s realistically got a few years left in the tank he’s a local lad and has the best track and set up in the country on his doorstep, if he does put the blue and white on again I feel he will be fired up to do what he knows he can and with that it gives us a lot of strength and experience in the big heats. Craig and Troy are some of the best team riders in the league, I also agree with the comment above him and Tate team rode so well together and were 5-1 machines at 1 and 2. Lets see what’s announced next! Give us a C
  21. Getting him on that average of just under 8 could prove to be a masterstroke, especially with every other team just having one over 8 rider. Workington could well be the only team in the league with two genuine number 1's
  22. My point a couple of pages ago! Where has this team been announced? Until i see it on the KL website its not happening
